Anyone - whether you're a world-famous or an aspiring street artist - can go there and add your few lines to the enormous "canvas". Asphalt, walls, doorways, windows of local shops - everything is covered with high-quality murals and graffiti.
It's hard to maintain the balance between "two idiots with markers drawing a penis on the wall" and "two respected street artists make a political statement through an obscene - yet thought-provoking - drawing". Some disputes still arise every year, but none of them make Hosier Lane less popular.
