On Wednesday (22), after receiving arrest warrants against the former Minister of Education of the Bolsonaro government, Milton Ribeiro, and pastors Arilton Moura and Gilmar Santos, the Federal Police began an operation to arrest them.

The three are suspected of creating a scheme of favoritism in the release of funds in the structure of the Ministry of Education and Culture, while Justice also suspects the receipt of bribes, according to the portal G1.

In the scheme, the MEC would release funds to municipalities in exchange for money and gold received from mayors.

Similarly, the operation aims to clarify evidence of influence peddling and corruption in the process of releasing funds from the National Fund for Education Development, an agency linked to the MEC. Open / Comment

The government of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and the National Congress have decided to extend the Gas Aid and create a benefit for truck drivers due to the high fuel prices, the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo reported.

According to the newspaper, one of the models being evaluated for the Gas Aid expansion is to reduce the payment interval, which would go from bimonthly to monthly. With this, the government will have to double the investment in the program, which today oscillates between R$ 275 million and R$ 300 million per month.

The Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a note congratulating the election of Gustavo Petro to the presidency of Colombia on Tuesday (21).

"In wishing the president-elect success in the performance of his duties, the Brazilian government reaffirms its commitment to the continuity and deepening of bilateral relations with Colombia, with a view to the well-being, prosperity, democracy, and freedom of our peoples," the Itamaraty statement said.

The agency's statement was released two days after the election in which Petro's victory was declared with 50.44% of the votes in a second round. This is the first time that a leftist candidate wins a Colombian presidential race.

The Brazilian Navy (MB) and SPE Águas Azuis - Special Purpose Company composed by thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, Embraer Defesa e Segurança and Atech - presented, in an unprecedented way, on June 21st, at thyssenkrupp Estaleiro Brasil Sul (tkEBS) in Itajaí-SC, the section of one of the engine rooms of the future Tamandaré Class Frigate.

This Mockup reproduces in real dimensions the referred ship structure to be qualified by the Classification Society and by the applicable norms and contractual requirements, and thus start the fabrication of the ship still this year. The most modern and innovative naval project ever developed in the country, the Tamandaré Class Frigates Program (PFCT), conducted since 2017 by the Brazilian Navy, executed by Águas Azuis and managed by the Management Company of Naval Projects (EMGEPRON), provides for the construction, in national territory, of four ships of high technological complexity.

The FCT will be versatile and modern escorts, with high capacity for mobility, permanence, communications, combat, surveillance and reaction, and, therefore, capable of a broad spectrum of employment and protection of the maritime area belonging to Brazil. Their characteristics will allow for an increase in search and rescue operations; allow for the monitoring and combat of pollution, piracy, illegal fishing, among other threats, increasing maritime security in the Blue Amazon.
