In a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial in patients with immune thrombocytopenia, 91.5% of patients who received mycophenolate mofetil plus glucocorticoids had platelet levels above 100,000 per microliter, as compared with 63.9% of patients who received glucocorticoids only. Quality-of-life measures of physical function and fatigue were worse in the mycophenolate mofetil group.

● The SAVE-MORE phase 3 study demonstrates the efficacy of anakinra, an IL-1α/β inhibitor, in patients with COVID-19 and high serum levels of soluble plasminogen activator receptor. In anakinra group median decrease of SOFA score on day 7 from baseline was 1 point (OR = 0.63, P = 0.004). Twenty-eight-day mortality decreased (hazard ratio = 0.45, P = 0.045), and hospital stay was shorter.

Effectiveness among fully immunized persons was estimated at 65.9% for Covid-19 and at 87.5% for hospitalization, 90.3% for ICU admission, and 86.3% for death.
