Q1. Tell me about yourself without diving into your CV

Q2. Why do you want to re-join McKinsey (since i work there currently and I mentioned “Long term goals” in tell me about yourself)

Q4. What is the difference between AI and ML (explain to a layman)

Q5. What is the difference between AM and FM (ECE based questions since I did BTech in that and another person was working in that core industry)

Q6. What is the difference between High Frequency Filter and Low Frequency filter and where is it being used?

Q7. Why not switch your role internally since you are in the management consulting firm. Why MBA?

The professors mentioned twice or thrice that we were being diplomatic at such a young age. Should have the courage to dissent and defend ourselves

It was nice. I cleared GI 1. That went well. GI 2 went okay. I’m not sure how that one went because it’s very subjective.

6. I mentioned I lived a nomadic life so asked others what experiences I might have missed out on?

Sure, I got shortlisted for operations.
Work ex- project manager at Thermax ltd. 24months
1 HR prof, 1 finance prof, 1 alum

Start was tell us something interesting that is not there in the mentioned forms as we've gone through them.

List of project management tools- I told Primavera P6, ERP etc and explained about them

What all problems ur company faced during the pandemic and how u handled ur customers- told about raw material prices.

Was grilled on this topic, why prices have increased etc etc. It was a continuous two way discussion b/w me and the prof. At a point I told, this is what I read and I know only this much. He then guided me towards the ending. He asked is it only limited to our country. I then told WPI is at an all time since 1990.

Next alum asked me about what's special in spjimr and why operations.

My interest was cricket- he asked about what went wrong in the recent test series against SA. (I told about batting collapses and weak middle order)

He gave a situation- if ur a consultant selected for Indian cricket team, how would u select a team.

If we select u, what committee would u join and why.

Overall 3 ppl were with me in the panel. 2 from finance and me (Operations). Entire interview went for around 1 hr 15mins. Me and another girl got selected for gi2

1a. I said something about migrant labour crisis so they asked that what would you have done differently?

3) you are manager, 50% salary budget cut needs to be made. What will you do and the basis ?

5) Are EVs completely green ?

I think my GI 2 went bad but let's see, all the best to others.

1st panelist: You wrote about vaccination drive. Who are the major vaccine producers in India?

Told about BB and covaxin and SII and Covishield.

Talked about Johnson nc Johnson single shot vaccine also. Said didn't know any more.

Asked me what are the partners of BB and SII.

Couldn't answer properly.

2nd panelist: asked about sovereign gold bonds.

Didn't know.

Told how I had done basic research on finance.

Asked about financial modelling.
Answered.

Two more questions about financial modelling and what is valuation. Answered.

3rd panelist: tell a joke.

Told the beer yoga joke. Not much of a response from the other side.

Asked how about something original.

Told about the premise of a new joke about how the only constant in a middle class person's life is worry.

She said, wow. That kit made me worry more in a nice, disarming voice.

Do I have a good chance of getting into IIFT?
