Object relations refers to dynamic relationship between self ad significant others(mother, father etc)
Example- my mother is good because she feeds me when i m hungry

Object relations theory is centered on our internal relationships with others. According to this theory, our lifelong relationship skills are strongly rooted in our early attachments with our parents, especially our mothers. Objects refer to people or physical items that come to symbolically represent either a person or part of a person. Object relations, then, are our internalized relationships to those people.
Karl Abraham, Margaret Mahler, and Melanie Klein are among those credited with its origination and refinement.

object relations theory- variation from sigman freud belief that humans are motivated by sexual urges ,it suggest that human r primarliy motivated by the need for contact with others.

Usage- address deficit in interpersonal relation, individual identity, critique to sigman freud

5. Focus, will and hard work: Yes, that final sentence by the great Milkha Singh himself is ultimate. It does pay off, as without hard work on the field, mental training is useless!

2021-06-22 11:15:13 It is proposed that down-regulation of executive function can be countered through bottom-up processes – such as planned movement and controlled breathing involved in yoga – which promote neuroplasticity and improve executive function.

The study of yoga asana practice has revealed evidence that the mindful activity involved with the planning of new movements in yoga activates the shared pathway between the Cerebellum and Prefrontal Cortex. This activation is associated with increased connectivity in the shared pathway between the two; which may improve the ability to selectively inhibit or evoke particular patterns of thought in therapeutic clients.

Some evidence also suggests yogic exercise may increase release of the neurotransmitter Oxytocin, which is associated with improved interpersonal function; which in turn may increase the efficacy of therapeutic intervention.

Activation of the parasympathetic nervous system increases the release of Gamma-aminobutyric Acid (GABA), the brain’s primary inhibitory neurotransmitter. Lower levels of GABA are associated with poor mental wellbeing, anxiety, depression, PTSD and chronic pain; regular increases in GABA activity are shown to significantly improve wellbeing, and symptoms of associated mental health problems.

The benefits of yoga to health and wellbeing are of increasing interest to psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors and practitioners of talking therapy as they expand their continuum of care.

One such complementary therapy is yoga. The practical and safe teaching of yoga skills within the therapeutic setting (such as breath work and planned movement) can lead to improvement in many psychological and physiological symptoms.

Therapeutic implementation of yoga techniques in clinical practice is still growing, more and more literature is emerging focusing on the associated symptomatic and general wellbeing benefits. Yoga techniques have been shown to be beneficial in a range of mental health conditions; such as depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, eating disorders, and psychosis .

2021-06-21 13:08:30 CONCEPT OF THE DAY

RASHOMAN EFFECT-
occurs when the same event is given contradictory interpretations by different individuals involved.
But because these are accompanied by facts, each of these interpretations seem completely plausible wherein lies the confusion and dilemma.

Reason-not because people lie, but because they interpret the incident based on their own perceptions.

Here’s a simple example to understand how the Rashomon effect works in everyday life. Take for example that you meet a few friends over for dinner and the conversation is steered to the city park. You say that it’s a lovely place where you go to de-stress and relax, while your friend says that it’s a filthy place that is swarming with mosquitoes and has weird characters lurking about. You see how that works?

The park is the same, but the ways in which the two of you perceive it is different―this is the Rashomon effect. For a third person who’s witnessing this conversation, both viewpoints will seem legitimate because you are, after all, stating facts; but, there will be a dilemma in his mind about whether the park is worth visiting or not.
