2024-02-28 08:05:54 The line graph compares three countries, namely Colombia, Japan and Myanmar in terms of their clothing export figures between 1999 and 2003.

Overall, although clothing exports from Myanmar generally increased, they were erratic for the much of the period. In the meantime, while Colombia’s clothing exports grew noticeably, the figure for Japan dropped.

Regarding clothing exports from Myanmar, this country recorded the most volatile change. Despite initially standing at 0, the Myanmar textile industry boomed in 2000, with their exports skyrocketing to $800 million dollars. This sudden growth persisted for another year, with the export figure peaking at about $950 million. However, it experienced a remarkable decline of $600 million in 2002, followed by a moderate recovery to $450 million in the final year.

As for the remaining countries, Colombia and Japan, their pattern of change was less abrupt. The former exported clothes worth around $450 million in 1999, thereafter which this figure increased gradually to a peak of $700 million three years later. It, however, went down by $100 million in 2003. The latter country, on the other hand, saw its clothing exports drop. After initially fluctuating between $600 and $500 million until 2002, it eventually fell to below $500 million.

2024-02-26 08:02:38 In education and employment, some people work harder than others.

Why do some people work harder?

Is it always a good thing to work hard?

Whether in education or at work, there are many examples of people who are more diligent than others. Reasons why some people work hard vary, and I do not necessarily believe hard work is always desirable.

In my mind, the primary motive of many hard workers is greater achievement. They tend to be ambitious by nature, so they work relentlessly to realize their exceptional goals. Be it a financial goal or a personal target, they strive for excellent outcomes. Higher attainment, in turn, brings them more personal fulfillment, which makes all their toil worthwhile. Another common explanation for working hard is mere love of work. As cliché as it sounds, people who do not mind going the extra mile are driven by their passion for work. They find meaning in toiling for long hours, and unlike most people who see work as a chore, they find it quite satisfying.

Even though reasons why some people work harder than others are justifiable, I do not think that constantly pushing oneself is a good idea. Firstly, too much work can be detrimental to one’s health. Excessive workload often leads to physical and mental exhaustion, which inevitably results in severe burnouts. Feeling burnt out, people over time develop health problems like chronic stress and hypertension. Furthermore, working non-stop take its toll on one’s social life. Extra hours spent at the office or at school invariably means less time for family and friends, which may fracture one’s personal relationships. Resulting poor social life creates an unstable emotional and mental state, which is accompanied by feelings of depression and loneliness.

In conclusion, personal ambition and passion for work are two reasons why some students and employees are seen to dedicate more time for their studies and work than their counterparts. I, however, do not reckon it is sustainable as it will eventually cause poor health and social life.

2024-02-08 08:01:02 At the present time, the population of some countries includes a relatively large number of young adults, compared with the number of older people.

Do you think that the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Young
adults in some countries account for a larger segment of the population than old people. Despite some potential drawbacks, I believe this situation is generally advantageous.

Some people are concerned that a rise in young demographics can be troublesome in some respects. They fear that an increase in the number of young adults may result in unemployment as there will be more young people looking for vacancies. High unemployment, in turn, leads to social problems such as crime. It is also suggested that following disproportionate demographic growth favoring young adults, loss of cultural identity may ensue. This is because as the share of senior citizen declines, traditions and customs are practiced less frequently. Neglected, these traditions are quite likely to be replaced by foreign trends in today’s globalized world.

Nevertheless, it seems to me that having more young adults than old ones as a nation is, by and large, advantageous. First and foremost, countries in this category have the privilege of having many people of working age, which translates into cheap labor. This is particularly desirable for businesses seeing as they can reduce their cost of production, hence boosting their sales. Furthermore, a country can benefit from having a competitive environment. As young people tend to be ambitious and driven compared to their old counterparts, more accomplishments and innovations in the fields of sports and business are made. This, as a result, enhances a country’s international profile. Finally, the fewer old people there are, the less burden there is on social systems and healthcare since the number of pensioners and people who need medical care is relatively low.

In conclusion, countries with more young people than old are generally at an advantage as they benefit in terms of a sizeable workforce, a competitive environment and less demand for pensions and healthcare services.
