2021-07-31 06:03:20 There is no servant that Allah puts under him people that he governs and he dies having betrayed his people except that Allah makes al-Jannah ḥarām for him.

مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْتَرْعِيهِ اللَّهُ رَعِيَّةً يَمُوتُ يَوْمَ يَمُوتُ غَاشًّا لِرَعِيَّتِهِ إِلَّا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ

2021-07-28 22:04:41 On the authority of Muḥammad b. Ḥāṭib who said: When my mother came from al Ḥabashah (Ethiopia) after my father Ḥāṭib had died, she brought me to the Prophet ﷺ as one of my hands had burns.
وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ قَالَ: «لَمَّا قَدِمَتْ بِي أُمِّي مِنْ أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ حِينَ مَاتَ أَبِي حَاطِبٌ، فَجَاءَتْ أُمِّي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَقَدْ أَصَابَ إِحْدَى يَدَيْ حَرِيقٌ مِنْ نَارٍ،

She said: “O Messenger of Allah, this is Muḥammad b. Ḥāṭib the the son of your brother. He has suffered these burns.”
فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، هَذَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاطِبٍ، ابْنُ أَخِيكَ، وَقَدْ أَصَابَهُ هَذَا الْحَرْقُ مِنَ النَّارِ

Muḥammad b. Ḥāṭib said: “I do not lie upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so I do not remember, did he blow on to or rub my head, and he supplicated for blessings for me and my offspring.”
قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاطِبٍ: فَلَا أَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَلَا أَدْرِي أَنَفَثَ أَمْ مَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِي، وَدَعَا لِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ وَفِي ذَرِّيَّتِي».

Reported by al-Ṭabarānī; I do not know al-Ḥārith b. Muḥammad b. Ḥāṭib, but the rest of the narrators are reliable.

2021-07-25 15:24:58 It is appropriate for a student (of knowledge) to begin with memorizing the Book of Allah the Mighty and the Majestic.
يَنْبَغِي لِلطَّالِبِ أَنْ يَبْدَأَ بِحِفْظِ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ،

This is because it is the most illustrious science and because of the priority and precedence it entitles.

2021-07-23 14:58:09 Abū Nūḥ ʿl-Anṣārī said: A fire once broke out in a house where ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn – may Allah have mercy on him – was prostrating in prayer.
مُحَمَّدُ بنُ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ السِّنْدِيُّ: عَنْ أَبِي نُوْحٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ: وَقَعَ حَرِيْقٌ فِي بَيْتٍ فِيْهِ عَلِيُّ بنُ الحُسَيْنِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ،

So they (ie: the residents) began to say: “O son of the Messenger of Allah! Fire!”
فَجَعَلُوا يَقُوْلُوْنَ: يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ، النَّارَ!

He didn’t raise his head until the fire went out.
فَمَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ حَتَّى طُفِئَتْ.

When asked about this he said: “The other Fire kept my mind busy.”
فَقِيْلَ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: أَلْهَتْنِي عَنْهَا النَّارُ الأُخْرَى.

2021-07-21 06:23:34 Khawlah b. Ḥakīm al-Sulamīyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Whoever arrives at a place and then says: 'I seek refuge with the complete Words of Allah from the evil which He has created', then nothing will harm him until he leaves that place.”

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبٍ، أَنَّ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ بُسْرَ بْنَ سَعِيدٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتَ حَكِيمٍ السُّلَمِيَّةَ تَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ نَزَلَ مَنْزِلًا ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ كُلِّهَا مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ لَمْ يَضُرَّهُ شَيْءٌ حَتَّى يَرْتَحِلَ مِنْ مَنْزِلِهِ ذَلِكَ "

2021-07-13 16:42:31 On the authority of Abū Muʿāwiyyah, on the authority of al-Aʿmash, on the authority of Ibrāhīm that ʿAlqamah said: “I used to warm myself with my wife, then get up and make the ablution I makes for Ṣalāh.”

2021-07-11 16:53:52 Occupying the ten days of Ḏū al-Ḥijjah with worship, whether in the day or night, is better than a Jihād in which a person did not lose his life nor all of his wealth.

وَاسْتِيعَابُ عَشْرِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ بِالْعِبَادَةِ لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ جِهَادٍ لَمْ يَذْهَبْ فِيهِ نَفْسُهُ وَمَالُهُ

2021-07-07 15:36:04 Al-Witr (ie: the night prayer) at the end of the night is afḍal (ie: better), But whoever prays al-Witr at the beginning of the night, that is fine. It is permissible to pray after Witr but one should not repeat Witr.

مَسْأَلَةٌ: وَالْوِتْرُ آخِرُ اللَّيْلِ أَفْضَلُ. وَمَنْ أَوْتَرَ أَوَّلَهُ فَحَسَنٌ، وَالصَّلَاةُ بَعْدَ الْوِتْرِ جَائِزَةٌ، وَلَا يُعِيدُ وِتْرًا آخَرَ؛
