The world's smallest camera

Researchers from Princeton and Washington universities have developed a tiny camera, the size of which is comparable with the size of a grain of salt, but which, nevertheless, is able to shoot full-color images with sufficiently high resolution.

The device looks very much like a square piece of transparent material, with circular concentric structures applied to its surface.

The circle formed by these structures has a diameter of half a millimeter, but on its area placed about 1.6 million tiny cylinders with a certain thickness, height and distance to neighboring elements.

Nothing is as it seems at the Plastic Bag Store

We're travelling around New York City when we come upon a store that appears to be a typical grocery store, complete with cartons of fruit and vegetables, shelves of Coca-Cola, and colourful cereals. Magazine stands and cupcake display cases. However, if you enter this shop, you will see that everything on display is not what it appears to be, since everything is made of plastic, including shopping bags, bottles, and recyclable caps. "The Plastic Bag Store" is an installation and performance by artist Robin Frohardt.

On March 18, 2020, the first edition of this shop will open with a live puppet performance. The show was postponed until October because of the Covid19 outbreak, but in the meanwhile, it was turned into a video, and the Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA today assisted in bringing the full installation to Los Angeles.

The Modular Design of the Conceptual 'WaterPod'

The 'WaterPod' floating desalination device is a modern approach for assisting persons living in underdeveloped countries in gaining access to drinkable water. The system is distinguished by its floating architecture, which allows it to be positioned on the ocean's surface in any direction desired by the community. The units would then draw water up into the reservoir and use the sun's natural power to make potable water that the community could gather.

Bennie Beh Hue May, Yap Chun Yoon, and Loo Xin Yang designed the hypothetical 'WaterPod' floating desalination device in response to a scarcity of drinkable water in Sandakan, Malaysia.

LumiCube is a 192-LED cube for learning to code.

LED lights are quite popular. They are just enticing if they are also numerous (192) and can be programmed to generate customized text or lighting effects. This must-have occurred to the two creators of LumiCube, a gadget consisting of 192 individually programmable LED lights for Raspberry Pi (a configurable single-board computer).

It's a kind of "Rubik's cube" that measures 10 centimetres by 10 centimetres and can perform light, gesture, and sound games at will. LumiCube monitors the surroundings via a loudspeaker, accelerometer, gyroscope, microphone, and hundreds more sensors. The cube uses these chips to monitor temperature, humidity, and pressure and responds by lighting up differently if any of these variables change.

The Python scripting language may be used to control these features, as well as many more, such as the growing light effect for waking up in the morning.

The 'Kafya' Parasol Charges Devices And Powers a GPS Using The Sun's Rays

The 'Kafya' solar umbrellas, created by Kamel Badawi, go beyond keeping customers dry and out of the sun by capturing the sun's energy to charge smartphones and even a GPS. For everyday usage, the umbrella has a multipurpose purpose, a thin design, and mobility.

With tech-enhanced capabilities, the umbrella is designed to do more than just provide shade or protection from the weather. Thanks to a system of solar panels mounted on the parasol's frame, the umbrella harnesses solar energy to offer a fan, light, GPS connectivity, power bank, and USB charging. The sun's energy is used to power each of the functions in an ecologically responsible manner, enhancing the umbrella's performance and utility.

GoodWaste Investigates Circular Manufacturing in Department Stores

In conjunction with multinational retail giant Selfridges, design studio GoodWaste debuted its latest sustainable collection. GoodWaste repurposed the department store's old waste products and transformed them into high-end home décor. The purpose of the study dubbed the "Super Circular Department Store," was to see how department shops might transform obsolete garbage into a viable product.

Candles, lamps, and a vase are included in the five-piece set. All of the materials came from Selfridge's Oxford Street store as well as the neighbouring London region. All materials were meticulously obtained from local providers, including wax, steel, acrylic, and light bulbs. The LED light bulbs, for example, are made by Tala, a London-based company.

The brand is reasonably priced to make environmentally conscious buying accessible to everybody.

Lexus Presented A Concept SUV With Hydrogen Engine

Lexus, as a division of Toyota, is known as a manufacturer of premium executive vehicles - but it is no less successful in the SUV market. Its latest achievements are luxurious LX600 and GX460 based on Land Cruiser. However, winds of changes blow in this abode of automobile luxury as well.

The company introduced the concept of recreational off-road vehicle (ROV) with a hydrogen engine - a curious alternative to all-electric SUVs, actively capturing the automotive market.

Tesla Launches Sale of Children's ATVs

If you don't have 40000 dollars extra on your account to buy electric pickup truck Cybertruck, Tesla is ready to offer more "budget" option - for example, children's quad bike Cyberquad, a smaller version of its "adult" colleague, and only for 1900 dollars.

Intended for children, Cyberquad is an electric-powered four-wheeler with all the attributes of a real ATV - steel frame, soft seat, adjustable suspension with rear disc brake and LED light.
