LET’S TALK
When the Holy Spirit comes to live in you, He becomes one with your spirit and functions through your spirit. By learning to listen to your spirit, you’re actually listening to the Holy Spirit who lives within you.

Man is a spirit, and his body is the house where he (the real man) lives. Though the spirit-man can’t be seen with the physical eyes, the characteristics of the human body are a reflection of the attributes of the human spirit, and he has spiritual senses, just as the body has its physical senses.

This is why it’s important, as Christians, that we live our lives from the inside out. By this, I mean that the circumstances of your life ought to be regulated by your spirit and not by the world and its systems. Life is more spiritual than it is physical, thus it’s important that you live your life from your spirit. To live from your spirit, you’ve got to learn to listen to your spirit. And this is why you must train yourself with the Word of God.

As you learn the Word of God and fill your heart with it, your spirit becomes conditioned to recognise and follow the voice of the Holy Spirit as He guides you in accordance with God’s will and purpose for your life.

You’ve got to learn, understand and apply the written Word all the time. That way, your thoughts and mindset will be in sync with the Author of the written Word—the Holy Spirit. As you do this, He’ll guide you through your spirit and direct you in all that you do, making it increasingly difficult for you to be under the dominion of the flesh.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word is dwelling richly in my heart, I declare that it’s gaining ascendency in every area of my life causing me to conform spirit, soul and body to your will for my life. SERVEZ DIEU AVEC RÉVÉRENCE

Car Dieu, que je sers en mon esprit dans l’Evangile de son Fils, m’est témoin que je fais sans cesse mention de vous dans mes prières (Romains 1:9).

Lorsque vous étudiez la vie de l’apôtre Paul, vous comprendrez très clairement pourquoi il a si bien réussi dans le ministère. Paul a compris ce que cela signifiait de servir Dieu avec et à partir de votre esprit— avec une véritable révérence. N’estce pas que c’est semblable à ce que Jésus a dit dans Jean 4:23-24? Il a dit: « Dieu est Esprit, et ceux qui L’adorent doivent L’adorer en esprit et en vérité, car le Père recherche de tels adorateurs ». C’était la vie que Paul a vécue.

Quand il a dit: « je sers Dieu en mon esprit », il énonçait simplement comment il vivait chaque jour. Maintenant vous pouvez comprendre pourquoi il a dit dans Philippiens 3:3: « Car les circoncis, c’est nous, qui rendons à Dieu notre culte par l’Esprit de Dieu…» Il y avait un conditionnement de son esprit par la Parole et la communion du Saint-Esprit qui faisait de lui un véritable adorateur.

Voici la vie que nous avons été appelés à vivre. Nous devons servir et adorer le Seigneur avec et par nos esprits, dans la révérence qu’Il mérite. La Bible dit: « Les vingt-quatre vieillards se prosternent devant celui qui est assis sur le trône, et ils adorent celui qui vit aux siècles des siècles, et ils jettent leurs couronnes devant le trône…» (Apocalypse 4:10). Ils ont démontré de la révérence au Seigneur dans l’adoration.

Parfois, cette révérence peut être le fait de se prosterner physiquement, mais se prosterner dans son cœur est plus important. Beaucoup ne comprennent pas ce que c’est que d’avoir de la révérence pour Dieu. Certains chrétiens parlent en langues de manière irrévérencieuse, oubliant qu’ils parlent à Dieu et non à l’homme. La Bible dit que celui qui parle en d’autres langues ne parle pas aux hommes, mais à Dieu. En esprit, il dit des mystères à Dieu (1 Corinthiens 14:2). Pourquoi alors un enfant de Dieu parlerait-il à Dieu avec tant d’irrévérence? Une telle irrévérence chez certains Chrétiens se reflète dans leur vie, dans leurs paroles et leurs actions.

Ayez toujours la conscience de la présence de Dieu. Cela vous aidera à maintenir non seulement une attitude, mais une vie de révérence où vous rendrez à Dieu une véritable adoration.

À toi, Seigneur, sont la grandeur, la puissance, la gloire, la majesté et la splendeur, car toi seul es Dieu! Tu es exalté comme chef au-dessus de tous, et je te sers avec mon esprit dans l’Evangile, dans la sainteté et la vérité, au Nom de Jésus. Amen.

LET’S TALK
I love this scripture! The only hope and permanent solution to the dilemma of the poor is God’s Word. He is the One that raises the poor out of the dust; He lifts up the beggar from the dunghill and sets him among princes. This is what God does! If you were born into a poor family before you gave your heart to Christ, there’s a princely robe on you now. Don’t count yourself among the poor anymore; don’t count yourself among the masses anymore.

God has brought you into your wealthy place. You’ve inherited the throne of glory. He has raised you from the dunghill and set you among princes. Who are the princes? The Christians—God’s children! I love the way the Contemporary English Version puts it, it says God lifts “...the poor and homeless out of the garbage dump and gives them places of honor in royal palaces...” (1 Samuel 2:8 CEV). Do you now see why you must never count yourself among the poor?

You’re not a beggar; you’re not a nobody; you’re not a speck in the dust! God is your helper and He’s all the help that you need. When you live your life with this consciousness, you’ll discover that crises and challenges of life are all bread for you. Success and prosperity are your birthrights! You’re born for the top and distinguished for greatness. You’re royalty, possessing power with God, called to ride on the high places of life and occupy the places of honour in kingly palaces.

SERVE GOD WITH REVERENCE

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers (Romans 1:9).

When you study the life of the Apostle Paul, it’ll be very clear to you why he was so successful in ministry. Paul understood what it meant to serve God with, and from, your spirit—with true reverence. Isn’t that akin to what Jesus said in John 4:23-24? He said, “God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth, for the Father seeks such to worship Him.” This was the life Paul lived.

When he said, “I serve God with my spirit,” he was simply stating how he lived every day. Now you can understand why he said in Philippians 3:3, “We are the true circumcision that worship God in the spirit….” There was a conditioning of his spirit through the Word and fellowship of the Holy Spirit that made him a true worshipper.

This is the life we’ve been called to live. We’re to serve and worship the Lord with, and from, our spirits, with the reverence that He deserves. The Bible says, “The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne…” (Revelation 4:10). They showed reverence to the Lord in worship.

Sometimes, that reverence could be an outward prostration, but the prostration of the heart is more important. Many don’t understand what it is to have reverence for God. Some Christians speak in tongues irreverently, forgetting that they’re speaking to God and not man. The Bible says he that speaks in an unknown tongue isn’t speaking to men, but unto God: in the spirit, he’s speaking mysteries to God (1 Corinthians 14:2). Why then should a child of God speak to God so irreverently? Such irreverence among some Christians reflects in their lives, in their words and actions.

Always have the consciousness of the presence of God. It’ll help you maintain not just an attitude, but a life of reverence, where you give true worship to God.

PRAYER
Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for you alone are God! You’re exalted as head over all, and I serve you with my spirit in the Gospel, in holiness and truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
