WE’RE SELF SUFFICIENT

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content (Philippians 4:11).

One of the attributes of God is that He’s self-sufficient. He doesn’t need anything from anyone or anywhere. Everything is in Him. He doesn’t “need” power; He is power. He doesn’t “need” wisdom; He is wisdom. He doesn’t “need” righteousness; He is righteousness. He’s the selfexistent and self-sufficient God. Did you know that’s the life He’s given you as well?

Like Him, you don’t have to depend on external forces or factors. Everything you require to fulfil all that God wants you to do, and to be all that He created you to be is in you. Consider the Greek rendering of the word “content” in our theme scripture; it’s “autarkes,” from where the English derived the word “Autarchy.”

Autarchy is the policy of economic independence on external forces; to be self-sufficient. When you study 2 Corinthians 9:8 (AMPC), you see this clearly as God’s will for His children. It says, “And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].”

This is simple to comprehend because truly, a Christian is one in whom Christ dwells, and Christ is everything. When you have Christ, you’re full; you have it all. This was something I meditated on much in my youth, and I made up my mind it was going to be my experience and it’s been ever since.

Make up your mind to live in blessings and abundance, because it’s the life God has given to you in Christ. Refuse to allow circumstances determine or dictate the outcome of your life. Live in God’s Word. Even if it’s power you thought you needed, the Holy Spirit Himself, who is the power of God, lives in you. His power in you is inherent; self-generating. Your responsibility is to activate and put it to work at all times. Get to know who you are and live accordingly, independent of circumstances. Hallelujah!

C’est simple à comprendre car en réalité, le chrétien est celui en qui Christ habite, et Christ est tout. Quand vous avez Christ, vous êtes comblé; vous avez tout. C’est un fait sur lequel j’ai beaucoup médité, dans ma jeunesse, et j’ai décidé que ce serait mon expérience et il en est ainsi depuis toujours.

Décidez de vivre dans les bénédictions et l’abondance, car c’est la vie que Dieu vous a donnée en Christ. Refusez de laisser les circonstances déterminer ou dicter l’issue de votre vie. Vivez dans la Parole de Dieu. Même si vous pensiez avoir besoin de puissance, le Saint-Esprit Lui-même, qui est la puissance de Dieu, vit en vous. Sa puissance en vous est inhérente; auto-génératrice. Votre responsabilité est de l’activer et de la mettre à l’œuvre à tout moment. (God’s Glory Is Greater Than His Power)

TO THE BIBLE
Luke 5:17 “Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”

LET’S TALK
Oftentimes, the power of God is synonymously used in Scripture with the presence of God and the glory of God, but they don’t mean precisely the same thing. For example, when the Lord asked Moses to talk to the rock, God wanted His glory to be manifested. Moses, however, struck the rock. When he did, the power of God was manifested, but the glory of God wasn’t, and God reprimanded Moses; He said, “Moses, you didn’t glorify me before the people” (Numbers 20:11-12).

Though God’s power was manifested, and water came out of the rock, God’s glory wasn’t there because Moses acted in disobedience. God always wants us to manifest His power and His glory. The glory is greater than the power, because the glory includes God’s power, grace, and righteousness. The glory of God is the term that encapsulates all of His splendour and His righteousness. God manifests His righteousness in His glory.

For those who wonder, “Is it possible for the power of God to be manifested, and His presence and glory are not manifested?” The answer is yes, because His power is given to us to use. In 1 Corinthians 9:18, the Apostle Paul talked about not wanting to abuse his authority in the Gospel. Someone can misuse the power of God, but you can never misuse the glory of God. That’s where the difference is. And God always wants us to walk in His glory.

It’s like walking in the grace of God and not necessarily walking in the righteousness of God. One can walk and partake of His grace and be doing the wrong thing, but God isn’t going to be happy with that. He’d reprimand such a fellow and expect him or her to repent. To walk in God’s power and His glory, you have to walk in His grace and in His righteousness as well; they all go together.

In Christ, we were given a life that started with grace. The English Standard Version (ESV) of our theme verse says, “And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” Hallelujah! It was with grace that your salvation came. There’s absolutely nothing in this world—including its fame or fortune— that could be compared with what the grace of Jesus Christ has bequeathed to you.

His grace granted you all things. By His grace, you’ve been endowed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). You have all that you require for life and for godliness (2 Peter 1:3). His grace brought acceptability, advantage, favour, joy, liberality, pleasure, and fulfillment. Glory to God!

Secondly, your life is also from faith to faith; ever increasing faith! Talking about the Gospel, the Bible says, “For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith…”’ (Romans 1:17). The more you receive God’s Word, the greater your faith, for “…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).

Then, as you understand faith, and walk in God’s righteousness, it goes to the next level, which is “from glory to glory.” So, your life never goes down; it’s upward and forward only. So, be more conscious of the glorious life of boundless grace, faith and glory that you have in Christ. En Christ, nous avons reçu une vie qui a commencé par la grâce. Deuxièmement, votre vie est aussi une vie de foi en foi; une foi toujours plus grande! Parlant de l’Évangile, la Bible dit: «parce qu’en lui est révélée la justice de Dieu par la foi et pour la foi…» (Romains 1:17). Plus vous recevez la Parole de Dieu, plus votre foi est grande, car «…la foi vient de ce qu’on entend, et ce qu’on entend vient de la parole de Christ» (Romains 10:17).

Ensuite, lorsque vous comprenez la foi et marchez dans la justice de Dieu, cela passe au niveau suivant, c’est à dire «de gloire en gloire«. Ainsi, votre vie ne connaît que l’ascendance; vers le haut et de l’avant uniquement. Alors, soyez plus conscient de la vie glorieuse de grâce, de foi et de gloire illimitées que vous avez en Christ. De temps en temps, déclarez: «Je vais de grâce en grâce, de foi en foi et de gloire en gloire.« Alléluia!
