LET’S TALK
“Auntie Anna, I heard you’re feeling a bit of a headache?” Jake asked his Aunt after he’d come from Church.

“Yes, dear, I am,” Anna replied, “Why are you asking?”

“Let me pray for you and place my hands on your head. I’ll tell the headache to leave, and it will,” Jake replied.

After a few seconds of laying on of hands and commanding the pain to go, Anna said, “My goodness! I feel better already; wow! How’d that happen?” in excitement.

Jesus said, “You shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover” (Mark 16:18) because your hands aren’t ordinary; they’re the hands of Jesus. That’s what we read in our opening verse! Don’t you know your feet are the feet of Christ? Your eyes are His eyes! He walks, talks, sees, and blesses through you. Hallelujah!

I often wonder when Christians sing, “My hands are blessed...” if they understand the implication of their words and the power of the truth professed. Your hands are the extension of you (the blessing) because you’re the extension of Christ. Hallelujah! Therefore, learn to use your hands. There’s a profuse gush of divine power when you stretch or lift your hands in prayer and worship.

The same thing happens when you stretch it in the direction of a situation you want to be changed or something or someone you want blessed. For example, if there’s something that’s been damaged in your home, with your mouth and your hands, you can fix it!

By the stretching forth of the apostles’ hands, many signs and wonders were wrought among the people (Acts 5:12). As you stretch forth your hands, hopes will be restored; burdens will be lifted; sicknesses and diseases will be healed; destinies will be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Use your hands today in faith, and watch miracles happen.

L’AUTORITÉ DE SON NOM

C’est pourquoi aussi Dieu l’a souverainement élevé, et lui a donné le nom qui est au-dessus de tout nom, afin qu’au nom de Jésus tout genou fléchisse dans les cieux, sur la terre et sous la terre (Philippiens 2:9-10).

Le passage ci-dessus est catégorique à propos de l’autorité de Jésus. Ceci est différent du caractère ou de l’identité de Son Nom. Par exemple, lorsqu’il était sur terre, Jésus est passé à côté de nombreux malades, qui n’ont pas profité de son identité pour recevoir la guérison. En fait, la Bible dit qu’Il est venu à un endroit où il y avait beaucoup de gens malades; Il a guéri une personne et est parti de là (lisez Jean 5:1-15). Pourtant Il avait Son identité, Il avait Son caractère. Donc, quand vous utilisez Son Nom, il s’agit de Son autorité.

Vous n’êtes même pas obligé d’avoir la foi pour utiliser Son Nom. Son Nom est un instrument, et un don qui vous est accordé. Et l’autorité de Son Nom est au-dessus des choses, des êtres, de tout ce qui peut être identifié. L’un quelconque de nous peut utiliser ce Nom et le pouvoir qu’il renferme. Jean 14:12-14 dit: «En vérité, en vérité, je vous le dis, celui qui croit en moi fera aussi les œuvres que je fais, et il en fera de plus grandes, parce que je m’en vais vers le Père; et tout ce que vous demanderez au Père en mon nom, je le ferai, afin que le Père soit glorifié dans le fils.»

Il nous a donné la procuration—le droit légal d’agir à sa place—d’utiliser son nom. Alors, ne vous mettez pas en position de désavantage; utilisez Son Nom. Utilisez-le contre Satan, les forces des ténèbres et les circonstances, et ils vous obéiront comme ils le feraient pour Jésus.

CONFESSION
Le sceau placé sur tout ce que Dieu a créé porte le merveilleux nom de Jésus. Je fais toutes choses et j’opère des merveilles en Son Nom! THE AUTHORITY OF HIS NAME

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth (Philippians 2:9-10).

The scripture above is definitive about the authority of Jesus. This is different from the character or identity of His Name. For example, Jesus passed by many sick people who didn’t take advantage of His identity to receive healing when He walked the earth. In fact, the Bible says He came to a place where there were many impotent folks, He healed one person and went away from there (Read John 5:1-15). Yet He had His identity, had His character. So, in using His Name, it’s about His authority.

You’re not even required to squeeze up faith to use His Name. His Name is an instrument and a gift given to you to use. And the authority of His Name is over things, beings, and anything that can be identified. Anyone of us can use that Name and the power in it. John 14:12-14 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

He gave us the power of attorney—the legal right to act in His stead—to use His Name. So, don’t cheat yourself; use His Name. Use it against Satan, the forces of darkness and circumstances, and they’ll respond to you as they would to Jesus.

CONFESSION
The seal on everything that God made bears the awesome Name of Jesus. I do all things and work wonders in His Name! Thank you Father for the privilege to use the most awesome and powerful Name of Jesus to effect changes in my life and in my world. Amen.

In Acts 27-28, Luke reports an inspiring incident with Paul while on a journey to Rome. The ship ferrying them and some two hundred and seventy-four others was caught in a violent storm. Thankfully, all aboard swam safely to shore on the island of Malta. The people who lived there showed them great kindness, and made a fire, and called them all to warm themselves. As Paul gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out of the heat and fastened itself to his hand.

When the natives saw the creature hanging from Paul’s hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live” (Acts 28:4 NKJV). While the onlookers expected Paul to swell and suddenly drop dead as a result of the venom, he simply shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. They concluded that he was a god.

What made Paul so different? He was eternal life conscious. He knew that the one who has the Son of God has eternal life: “…the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). The one who has eternal life can’t be poisoned. Jesus said so in Mark 16:18: “…if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them....”

This is the life that He’s given us, but many don’t know it. The Bible says through knowledge shall the just be delivered into their inheritance. So, you see, it works by knowledge! It’s about your knowledge of the immortal and incorruptible life of Christ that’s at work in you. No wonder John said, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13).

Dear Father, I thank you for bringing to my consciousness the supernatural, immortal and incorruptible life of Christ that’s at work in me. Dans Actes 27-28, Luc rapporte un incident inspirant avec Paul lors d’un voyage à Rome. Le navire qui le transportait, ainsi que deux cent soixante-quatorze autres, fut pris dans une violente tempête. Heureusement, tout le monde à bord a nagé jusqu’à la côte de l’île de Malte.

Le peuple qui y habitait, leur montra une grande bonté, et fit un feu, et les appela tous à se réchauffer. Alors que Paul ramassait un paquet de bois et les mettait au feu, une vipère sortit du feu et s’attacha à sa main.

Quand les autochtones virent la créature suspendue à la main de Paul, ils se dirent l’un à l’autre: «Assurément cet homme est un meurtrier, puisque la Justice n’a pas voulu le laisser vivre, après qu’il ait été sauvé de la mer» (Actes 28:4). Alors que les spectateurs s’attendaient à ce que Paul enfle et tombe soudainement mort à cause du venin, il a tout simplement secoué la créature dans le feu et n’a subi aucun mal. Ils ont conclu qu’il était un dieu.

Qu’est-ce qui avait rendu Paul si différent? Il était conscient de la vie éternelle. Il savait que celui qui a le Fils de Dieu, a la vie éternelle: «…le don de Dieu c’est la vie éternelle par Jésus- Christ notre Seigneur» (Romains 6:23). Celui qui a la vie éternelle ne peut être empoisonné. Jésus l’a dit dans Marc 16:18: «…s’ils boivent quelque breuvage mortel, ils ne leur feront point de mal.»

Ça c’est la vie qu’Il nous a donnée, mais beaucoup ne le savent pas. La Bible dit que par la connaissance, le juste sera livré dans son héritage. Donc, vous voyez, cela fonctionne par la connaissance! Il s’agit de votre connaissance de la vie immortelle et incorruptible de Christ qui est à l’œuvre en vous. Pas étonnant que Jean ait dit, «Je vous ai écrit ces choses, afin que vous sachiez que vous avez la vie éternelle, vous qui croyez au nom du Fils de Dieu…» (1 Jean 5:13).

LET’S TALK
When it comes to receiving the Holy Spirit, many people misunderstand the Scriptures, for example, in Luke 11:13, Jesus said: "If then, wicked as you are, you know how to give good things to your children, how much more will the Heavenly Father give the Holy Ghost to those who ask ”Jesus was not speaking to Christians here. He was speaking to those who were under the Old Covenant.

Anyone who could have received the Holy Ghost by asking; but unfortunately most never got It because they didn't ask. Jesus said, ask and it will be given to you (Luke 11: 9). However, after the New Testament takes effect from the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Word does not ask anyone to ask for the Holy Spirit. What he told us is how the apostles ministered in the Spirit to people; they "... prayed for them, that they may receive the Holy Ghost" (Acts 8:15); and some received Him without prayer (Acts 10: 44-46).

There is no point in asking for the Holy Spirit because He is one of the cardinal gifts of God - for all men. Just by obeying His call to believe the gospel, anyone can receive It. He says in Acts 2:17: "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on every person ..." (NIV). Note that He did not say, "I will pour out my Spirit on all Christians, but on all PERSONS." It is the blessing of the Father that has come today! God wants you to walk in the fullness of the Spirit and may you live righteously and victoriously in today's world.

If you have not received the Holy Spirit since you were born again, Galatians 3:14 says "let us receive by faith the Spirit that had been promised. " Just say, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I open my heart, and I receive the Holy Spirit." Then, by faith, just receive Him as you received Christ. While you thank Him, you will be filled with the Holy Spirit, and you will speak in tongues or you will prophesy. Glory to God!
