2022-08-20 00:20:30 FC Bayern Muenchen Attends Oktoberfest 2018Prost! | Photo by Pool / Bongarts / Getty ImagesThe lads might have a new place to hang aboutBeer is as important to German culture as Manuel Neuer is to Bayern Munich. Now, it seems like those two will become one! The GOATkeeper and his restaurateur companion Johannes Rabl fought off numerous competitors for the property, were successful, and have been the tenants since last month. The property in question is the historic Forsthaus Valepp near the German-Austrian border. It was built in 1841 and is currently owned by the Bavarian State Forests, who have been maintaining the Bavarian forests since 2005.Oktoberfest - FC Bayern at the Wiesn Photo by Matthias Balk/picture alliance via Getty Images“Beer-n“ Munich players like their beersBSF have no intention of reopening the Forsthaus, having been closed for up to eight years for extensive refurbishment. Despite their initial claims, BSF wanted to revive the Forsthaus as a restaurant. They partially got their wish as Neuer and Rabl are already planning on what to do at the Forsthaus.Rabl said that instead of the posh crowds that would’ve fit the setting, he and Neuer are looking at a friendly-atmosphered gastro. “Manuel Neuer and I want to develop a climate-neutral gastronomy concept for everyone in Valepp,” Rabl told T-Online (as captured by Abendzeitung).FC Bayern München v Borussia Dortmund - Bundesliga Photo by Matthias Hangst/Getty ImagesWhat a fun night it will be!The place will be running on sustainable energy. “We have envisaged a combination of photovoltaic system with renewable heating source, most likely with wood chips.” It is also not advisable to travel by car as to protect the wildlife there. It’s honestly exciting to see what the Forsthaus will look like when it’s all fixed up and running. Imagine this: Neuer trying to hold as much beer steins as he can (he has big hands; he can do it); Thomas Muller just being his exuberant self and livening up the mood; Joshua Kimmich trying to carry multiple pints at once (I hope some of you got that reference); Uli Hoeness grilling his world famous Uli Sausages ; Alphonso Davies attempting to hold the beer stein for at least 63 seconds; people with beers rushing past Jamal Musiala; the new-look Berni being the bouncer (or should I say, Beer-ni); the Kovac brothers returning for one time only to sing “99 Luftballons”; the endless chasing whilst trying to pour beer over someone. What a scene!Which one will you go for? Neuer’s gastro inn, or Niklas Süle’s “Forty-Five” pub? Wonder if Chuck finally got to go to the latter.

The FC Bayern Frauen look to build on their impressive victory over FC Barcelona earlier in the week as they continue preparations for the Bundesliga season.Tonight’s lineupsUnsere XI für das #AMOSWFC2022

Jovana Damnjanović starts up top and Lina Magull captains her side.Bayern Munich are wrapping up their participation in the 2022 AMOS Women’s French Cup, having earned a place in today’s Final through their 2-1 victory over FC Barcelona earlier this week. Meeting them at the Stade Ernest-Wallon in Toulouse, France will be Manchester United, who triumphed 1-0 over Paris Saint-German.New defender signing Tainara, who featured in the back three against Barça, will miss out due to injury.Though Bayern are the holders, this will be more about preparation for the season than securing a trophy. Still, the caliber of teams participating has been important in helping new coach Alexander Straus implement his vision.“When we play against teams as strong as Barcelona, Paris, or Manchester United, we have to know how to deal with not having the ball all the time,” Straus told FCBayern.com.“We have to develop step by step at every moment...everyone is working on this together, coaches and players alike. And if we work as well as we do every day, we will continue to win our games.”Match InfoLocation: Stade Ernest-Wallon, Toulouse, FranceTime: 3pm ET, 9pm local timeTV/Streaming: CBS (USA), MUTV (UK/Ireland), livesoccertvNote: This does not appear to be available on Paramount+ despite what livesoccertv says; please let us know if it is otherwise. Here’s a rundown of the options across different countries:

2022-08-19 21:20:41 FC Bayern München v VfL Wolfsburg - BundesligaPhoto by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesWith the Spanish league underway, we finally have all of the top 5 leagues returning to action for the 2022/23 season!Football is back. Wahay! As all of Europe’s “Top 5” leagues have resumed play, we look now to keep up with the actions of the very best players in the leagues. As the next weekend approaches, we will go over the weekend (or in this, case the weekends) that was, with player power rankings. To be clear, while this power ranking will take it into account both matchdays in equal measure, future power rankings will have larger recency bias, as is the nature of a ‘power’ ranking. It is very form-based.10. Bryan Cristante (AS Roma)US Salernitana 1919 v AS Roma - Serie A Photo by Giuseppe Maffia/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesBryan Cristante was touted as one of the best defensive midfield prospects in the world a few years ago, and while his development hasn’t exactly followed the trajectory he was thought to be capable of, he is still a class player. Roma faced US Salernitana in a game that saw them create many chances but the forwards failed to finish — Nicolò Zaniolo in particular missing quite a few key chances early on.However, Cristante scored with a slightly deflected effort from outside the box on his weaker foot. On top of this, Cristante was the key to Roma’s defense and ball progression, as his partner in central midfield — Lorenzo Pellegrini — acted as more of an advanced midfielder, akin to the 10 role he was employed in occasionally last season.9. Benjamin Pavard (Bayern Munich)FC Bayern München v VfL Wolfsburg - Bundesliga Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty ImagesIt would not be hyperbolic of me to say that Bayern Munich look like the best team in Europe right now, and Benjamin Pavard has become a key component of the Bayern Munich machine. A goal in the DFL-Supercup against RB Leipzig as well as on the opening day in the Bundesliga against Eintracht Frankfurt have shown he is not a limited player going forward as has been the general consensus, but he has also backed it up with solid defensive performances.Often dropping in line with the centre-backs to form a back three, Pavard has shown great defensive instincts and especially an improved tackling technique, one that has seen him dispossess or block attackers in multiple key situations. Going forward, Pavard has often sad wide offering a safer option to the attackers in the middle, but when an attacker drifted wide to the right Pavard was always quick to react by inverting into the middle. What has been extremely improved in particular are Bayern’s set piece play and specifically Pavard’s set piece positioning. Both of Pavard’s goals have come near set pieces: a corner on the Bundesliga opening day, and a few seconds after a corner fizzled out in the DFL-Supercup.8. Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus)Juventus v US Sassuolo - Serie A Photo by Jonathan Moscrop/Getty ImagesAn honourable mention must go to Ángel di María who scored his first ever goal for Juventus on his debut against Sassuolo, roughly catching an Alex Sandro cross on the volley before it bounced over Andrea Consigli in goal, as well as assisting Dusan Vlahovic…

2021-09-05 12:20:50 Liechtenstein v Germany - 2022 FIFA World Cup QualifierPhoto by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty ImagesCatch our full coverage of Germany’s qualifying game against Armenia right here! It’s the second game of the international break, and Germany are set to face Group J toppers Armenia in what counts as a topspiel when there’s no domestic football. This will be Hansi Flick’s second game in charge of Germany, and the former Bayern Munich coach will be looking to improve on his 2-0 win over Liechtenstein.Flick has a number of players missing for this game, which will probably raise the need to experiment with the lineup. Versus Liechtenstein, we didn’t really see much of the coach’s new approach in action, simply because the opponents were so defensive. Hopefully against Armenia, we see a lot more of the team and Hansi’s tactics.Join us here on Bavarian Football Works for the full story. We have news, updates, podcasts, analysis, and a lot more besides — for this game and so many others! We never miss a match, so be sure to check it all out.
