2021-09-05 10:20:46 Germany Training And Press ConferencePhoto by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty ImagesEven Joshua Kimmich values downtime.Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich had a key decision to make after Germany was bounced from the European Championships: Take some time off or keep working on his game?If you have watched Kimmich play over the years, it is easy to predict how he approached his “downtime” this summer. Still, with a young family Kimmich realized he needed to mentally take break from things and did allow himself to enjoy some time with those closest to him“I’m not the type of guy who doesn’t do any sport for five weeks, but I could switch off mentally and get away from the Euros, which I had to get over,” Kimmich told FCBayern.com “It’s easier to focus on everyday matters during a holiday with the children. It wouldn’t be fair when everything continued to revolve around football. But I was happy to get going again at the end of the five weeks.”Even the midfield cyborg needs a few days off once in a while.

2021-09-05 07:20:49 Germany Training And Press ConferencePhoto by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty ImagesIt’s game day! Germany vs. Armenia!Werner raves about Musiala, future with Germany (@iMiaSanMia)Germany forward Timo Werner got off to a good start for this international break with a goal against Liechtenstein. On that tally, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala set Werner up via a terrific assist and the former RB Leipzig man was very appreciative.“He’s gone through the roof in the last six months, he’s a great player & has a huge future. We’re happy to have players at his age with us. Jamal just goes out on the pitch, plays his game and has fun. Maybe we, other players, have to come back down this path,” Werner said of Musiala. As for how things are going under Hansi Flick, Werner is happy to be working with the former Bayern Munich skipper. Flick, of course, wanted to bring Werner — and Kai Havertz — to Bavaria before the duo ultimately signed with Chelsea FC back in 2020.“We didn’t talk about the past, we are happy to be able to work together now. We always got on well. In the first game I was able to show with my goal that it wasn’t a very bad idea to let me play,” Werner said. “Sometimes you win a game like that one against Liechtenstein 8-0 because the first few chances go in. On other occasions, however, you only win 2-0. The time will come again where we score two goals from a half chance.”Adli explains choosing Leverkusen over Bayern, Wolfsburg (Transfer Market Web)Amine Adli was linked to Bayern Munich for a stretch this summer, but we heard the Bavarians were not keen on paying that much for the youngster. Adli ultimately signed with Bayer Leverkusen. Here is his story on how it all went down:At 21, Amine Adli left Toulouse after long weeks of conflict with his club. Free from any contract in 2022, the best player of the last year in Ligue 2 has finally signed with Bayer Leverkusen. Also courted by Bayern Munich or VfL Wolfsburg, the former Toulouse player told Kicker why he chose Leverkusen and not Bayern.“I chose Leverkusen after talking to the coach. He explained to me the goals of the club and told me that there was a lot of attention on the young players here. The team is very young. These are all things that made the difference for Leverkusen. I made the decision between Leverkusen and Bayern at the last moment. I think the project here at Bayer is very interesting. Then I spoke to my family and the choice finally fell on Leverkusen. Everything happened very quickly,” he said.Messi back to Barca? (Sport 1)Could Lionel Messi head back to FC Barcelona? There is speculation already that it could happen:Lionel Messi has only played a single game for his new club Paris Saint-Germain, but a return to FC Barcelona is already being discussed. At least one Argentine legend assumes that this will happen. “I’m sure that Leo ( Messi, editor’s note ) will end his career in Barcelona. He will win the Champions League PSG and then he will step down with his people in Barcelona, ”said Juan Roman Riquelme, who played with the six-time world footballer on the Argentina national team, at ESPN .Messi had left Barca in the summer after much back and forth and joined the top French club. There he signed a two-year contract with an option for…

The club described the incident in a firm statement titled “Nicht mit uns!”—that is, “Not with us!” (FC Energie Cottbus)In the past few days, several players of FC Energie Cottbus received offers for manipulating the match at Ludwigsfelder FC in the AOK-Landespokal Brandenburg [editor: i.e. the cup for the state of Brandenburg]. Large sums of money were offered if the game should take the desired course. The players, however, “immediately informed the club of these dubious offers” and Energie duly informed the state soccer federation of Brandenburg and made the incident public in agreement with the federation and Ludwigsfelder FC.The club concluded,FC Energie firmly distances itself from any and all types of game manipulation, declares in no uncertain terms, “Not with us,” and will make all the information available to the appropriate investigative authorities so that they may pursue criminal charges.Respekt!Energie proceeded to win their match against Ludwigsfelder 2-0 and advanced to the third round of the AOK-Landespokal Brandenburg.Mit einem 2:0 beim Ludwigsfelder FC steht der #FCEnergie in der dritten Runde des AOK-Landespokal Brandenburg. 2021-09-05 03:20:30 FC Bayern Muenchen v Werder Bremen - FLYERALARM Frauen-BundesligaPhoto by Johannes Simon/Getty ImagesBayern Munich won their second straight Frauen Bundesliga game to open the season with a 3-0 win over SC Sand.Bayern Munich won their second consecutive match to open the Frauen Bundesliga season, easing to a 3-0 victory away to SC Sand. The Bavarians do look like the “real deal” again this season and are set to make a strong push for European glory for the first time ever.Match HighlightsKlara Bühl was unlucky to not put Bayern up 1-0 in the 14th minute, but the goal post had different ideas. She would, however, turn provider in the 20th minute, beating the Sand goalkeeper and seeing the ball end up in the path of Linda Dallmann to put Bayern in front. Bühl was a terror to the Sand backline all day. She nearly found her first in the 37th minute, but a nice save denied her. Unfortunately for Sand, Hanna Glas headed in Lina Magull’s cross for her second goal of the season. Bühl though she found her goal in the 2nd minute, but Michaela Brandenburg cleared it off the line to keep the Bayern lead at only 2-0.Lea Schüller scored a rebound in the 55th minute to give Bayern the insurmountable 3-0 lead. Bayern took their foot off the gas after the third goal and mostly cruised for the final 35 minutes.SquadJens Scheuer started the same starting lineup as last week’s big win against Werder Bremen. He’s still making very good use of the Bayern bench, however, bringing in a nice mix of young players (Sydney Lohmann 21, Karólína Vilhjálmsdóttir 20), experienced players (Lineth Beerensteyn 24), and veterans (Maxi Rall 27, Sofia Jakobsson 31).Bayern XI: Benkarth – Glas (65. Rall), Wenninger, Kumagai, Simon – Zadrazil – Bühl (58. Beerensteyn), Magull (82. Viggósdóttir), Dallmann (65. Lohmann), Asseyi (82. Jakobsson) – SchüllerSchüller got the start up top in favor of Jovana Damnjanovic who didn’t make the matchday squad for this one. Meanwhile, fellow-returning-from-ACL-injury Giulia Gwinn did make the bench but didn’t make the field.54‘ Gepflegter Spielaufbau

They’re currently level with Wolfsburg, and by the time Sunday’s games finish, they could be tied with another three clubs. Barring one of those clubs having a massive win, Bayern will enter Matchday 3 on top of the table. The Frauen’s next match is September 11th against Freiburg.JAAA, AUSWÄRTSSIEG‼

Schlusspfiff in Sand! Unsere #FCBFrauen gewinnen auch ihr zweites #DieLiga-Spiel souverän.

2021-09-05 01:20:17 FC Bayern München v Hertha BSC - BundesligaPhoto by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Corbis via Getty ImagesDoes Bayern Munich have the horses to win the Champions League this season? As Bayern Munich prepares for the Champions League, the club submitted its roster to UEFA:Goal: Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich, Christian FrüchtlDefense: Dayot Upamecano, Omar Richards, Niklas Süle, Benjamin Pavard, Bouna Sarr, Lucas Hernández, Alphonso Davies, Tanguy Nianzou, Josip StanisicMidfield: Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Michael Cuisance, Marcel Sabitzer, Corentin Tolisso, Malik Tillmann, Marc RocaAttack: Thomas Müller, Serge Gnabry, Robert Lewandowski, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Eric Maxim Choupo-MotingYou may be wondering why this list is missing one key name: Jamal Musiala. At 18-years-old, Musiala qualifies as a B List player. Per Sport 1, “A player may be included on this list if he was born on or after January 1, 2000 and was eligible to play for the club in question for two consecutive years between his 15th birthday and the date of his registration with UEFA.”The Bavarians have several youngsters who might qualify for the B List aside of Musiala. Thorben Rhein and Bright Arrey-Mbi were other players listed by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia as possibilities for the B List.

2021-09-04 23:20:57 Germany v Latvia - International FriendlyPhoto by Lars Baron/Getty ImagesThe pair of Die Mannschaft and Bayern stars have both surpassed 100 CAPS and are going to be properly recognized for it.As confirmed by Sky Germany, both Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller will be honored ahead of Germany’s World Cup qualifier against Armenia at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart tomorrow. Both will receive said honor for reaching, and surpassing the 100 CAP mark for Die Mannschaft. They will both receive official jerseys that have the number 100 on the back beneath their names.Technically, the pair of Bayern Munich players had already reached 100 matches prior to this occasion. Neuer’s 100th cap came in Germany’s tune up friendly against Latvia back in the beginning of June, which they won 7-1. Muller’s had come all the way back in the fall of 2018, when he came on as a sub in the 2-2 draw against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League campaign following the 2018 World Cup in Russia. It was shortly after that Joachim Low had made the decision to remove Muller, Mats Hummels, and Jerome Boateng from the national team setup.Because of more than 12 months of geisterspiele due to the coronavirus pandemic and severely reduced capacities for the Euro 2020 tune-up friendlies, the proper opportunity to honor both Neuer and Muller never really properly came up. The DFB wanted to wait until they were able to have spectators inside a venue to do so and tomorrow’s clash in Stuttgart provides the perfect opportunity. The DFB had given out 18,000 free tickets for the qualifier as the Mercedes-Benz Arena will host a decent capacity for the encounter.Neuer is slated to return to the lineup after recovering from a slight injury, while Muller will miss the match through an adductor injury, but he will still accept the honor before kickoff. The DFB had also invited former manager Joachim Low to be honored, but he wanted to delay his honor. The reason being because Low didn’t want to take away any of the attention from Hansi Flick since it’s his first set of matches in charge of Die Mannschaft. Low will be honored at a later date that’s yet to be determined.
