በኢትዮጵያ ሶስተኛው ዙር ወረርሽኝ ለመጀመሩ ምልክቶች መታየታቸው ተገለፀ

በኢትዮጵያ ሶስተኛው ዙር የኮቪድ-19 ወረርሽኝ እየጀመረ መሆኑን የሚያሳዩ ምልክቶች እየታዩ እንደሆነ የኢትዮጵያ የህብረተሰብ ጤና ኢንስቲትዩት አስታውቋል። ተቋሙ ባወጣው መግለጫ እንደ ማሳያነት የጠቀሳቸውም በኮሮናቫይረስ ይያዙ የነበሩ ሰዎች ከሶስት ሳምንት በፊት ዝቅተኛ የነበረ ቢሆንም በአሁኑ ወቅት ግን ጭማሬ አሳይቷል ብሏል።

ዝቅተኛ በነበረበት ወቅት በአማካኝ በአንድ ቀን 70 ግለሰቦች በቫይረሱ መያዛቸው ይመዘገብ የነበረ ቢሆንም ሐምሌ 22 ቀን 476 ግለሰቦች በኮቪድ-19 መያዛቸው ተገልጿል። ይህ ቁጥርም ሁለተኛው ዙር ካበቃበት ጊዜ ጀምሮ ከፍተኛ ቁጥር ሆኖም መመዝገቡንም ተቋሙ አሳውቋል።

ከዚህም በተጨማሪ ናሙና ከሚሰጡ 100 ግለሰቦች 1 እስከ 2 ግለሰቦች የመያዝ ምጣኔ የነበረ ሲሆን ሐምሌ 22 ቀን ከሶስት እጥፍ በላይ ጨምሮ ወደ 7 ግለሰቦች የመያዝ ምጣኔ ከፍ ብሏል። በፅኑ ህሙማን ክፍል ውስጥ የሚገኙ ህሙማን ከሶስት ሳምንት በፊት በአማካኝ 124 ግለሰቦች የነበሩ ሲሆን (ሐምሌ 22/2013 በእጥፍ በመጨመር ወደ 228 ማደጉም ተገልጿል።

በተለያዩ የዓለም ሀገራት መረጃዎች እና ጥናቶች እንደሚያሳዩት ሦስተኛው ዙር የኮቪድ-19 ወረርሽኝ መከሰቱ ታውቋል። ለዚህም እንደ ምክንያት የሚጠቀሰው የኮቪድ-19 ዴልታ ቫይረስ ሲሆን በኢትዮጵያ የኮቪድ-19 የዴልታ ቫይረስ መኖሩ ባይረጋገጥም የሶስተኛ ዙር ወረርሽኝ መከሰቱን የሚያሳዩ ምልክቶች መታየት መጀመራቸውም ተገልጿል። Open / Comment

Promising markers for acute infections.

Acute phase reactants are inflammation markers that exhibit significant change in concentration during inflammation.

- Procalcitonin (PCT) : PCT is a peptide protein produced in reponse to inflammation. It is a promising marker for sepsis and guides treatment with 87% sensitivity and 85% specificity.

- C-Reactive Protein (CRP) : CRP is a pentraxin protein that is used as direct measure of inflammation. The CRP level rises after 4-6 hours. It is 57% sensitive and 86% specific to determine acute infections.

- Sedimentation Rate (ESR): ESR is used to indirectly measure the level of fibrinogen. ESR level rises within 24-48 hours of inflammation.
