The Seasons of Life

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn to not judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.

The second son said no – it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfilment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but one season in the tree’s life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are – and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life – can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it’s winter, you will miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer, fulfilment of your fall.

Don’t judge a life by one difficult season. Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

How do we tell the TIME?
Vaqtni qanday qilib aytamiz?

Ingliz tilida soat necha ekanligini so'ramoqchi bo'lsak:
"What time is it?" deb savol beramiz. Javob ham har doim:
"It is ..." deb boshlanadi.

Vaqtni ifodalash uchun "past"(o'tdi) va "to"(ta kam) so'zlarini qo'llaymiz! Birinchi, necha daqiqa o'tgan yoki takam ligi aytiladi, past va to so'zlaridan keyin nechidan yoki nechigacha qolganligi ifodalaniladi! Agar soat aniq bitta son(rovna) bo'lgan bo'lsa, o'sha sondan so'ng "o'clock" so'zi qo'yiladi!

Masalan:

It is 2 o'clock now.
(Hozir soat (rovna) 2 bo'ldi)
It is 35 minutes past 10
(Soat 10 dan 35 daqiqa o'tdi)
Yoki: It is 25 minutes to 11
(Soat 25 takam 11 bo'ldi)

Ingliz tilida 30 daqiqa "half"(yarim soat),15 daqiqa "quater"(chorak) deb ifodalaniladi:

Masalan:
It is half past 4
(Soat 4 yarim bo'ldi)
It is quater to 7
(Soat 15 takam 7 bo'ldi)

Ammo ingliz tilida og'zaki nutqda soat juda qisqa qilib ham ifodalanishi mumkin:

M: 10:30 It is ten thirty.

Ertalab 00:00 dan obed 11:59 gacha bo'lgan vaqt uchun a.m.(anti-meridian), obed 12:00 dan kechki 11:59 gacha bo'lgan vaqt uchun p.m.(post-meridian) so'zlari ishlatiladi.

Masalan:
It is 1:00 a.m. (soat ertalabgi 1)
It is 1:00 p.m. (soat obeddan keyingi 1)

"Five Wild Dogs"

There was a river in a forest. Once, it rained so much that the water in the river rose over the bank. Soon, there was a flood in that part of the forest.

All the animals’ houses were under water. Then, Five Wild Dogs saved many animals from drowning.

Soon, the rains stopped and the water level in the river fell again.

The King of the Forest, the Lion, was very happy with the Five Wild Dogs. He called all the animals of the forest for a meeting and said, “These are brave and kind Dogs. They will eat with me, in my den, for a week. You must all respect them, too.

All the animals clapped their hands. Then, suddenly, a Rabbit said to the Lion, “Your Majesty, these Five Wild Dogs are not brave or kind. I heard them talking among themselves, this morning. They said that they had saved the animals so that they could eat them later.”

The Lion was very angry with the Five Wild Dogs and shouted, “Get out of my forest, you selfish fellows!”

Moral :Good deeds done for a selfish motive, are not worthy of praise. "
