Ingress Updates [ENG]

2022-11-28 09:26:20 Niantic has released the rules for Phase III of the Epiphany Dawn Anomaly. This phase will take place in Yokohama, Japan and in 10 connected cells.

For Phase III, three challenges will be carried out, for a total of 400 points:
- Anomaly Zone Battle Beacons - 170 points
- Anomaly Zone Flash Shards - 130 points
- 10 Connected Cells - 100 points

Rules are generally the same as Epiphany Dawn LA, we'll summarize them here:

Anomaly Zone Battle Beacons
From 13:00 to ~16:45, every 25 minutes (9 phases), a new wave of Battle Beacons will be spawned by NIA in the Anomaly Zone.
Portals where the Beacons will spawn will be highlighted in the Intel Map.
Some Portals will be marked as Volatiles, score will be multiplied by 3.
170 points to be divided between the Factions based on the sum of all Beacons' scores.

Anomaly Zone Flash Shards
65 Shards and 12 Target Portals (6 ENL and 6 RES) will spawn in waves in the Anomaly Zone. They will jump between linked L4+ Portals every 10 minutes starting at 13:35 until 16:45.
Shards won't jump to Portals they've already visited in the previous 25 minutes. After 25 minutes with no move, they'll teleport to another Portal nearby at the following jump.
Only the first 6 shards in each of the Targets will score 2 points for the relative Faction, additional shards won't count.
130 points to be divided between the two Factions based on the score at the end of the challenge.

100 points to be divided between the two Factions.
From December 9th 2022 @ 1700 UTC to December 12th 2022 @ 1700 UTC, links shorter than 8km in length can be created under Fields.

2022-11-19 12:25:05 With the second phase of the Epiphany Dawn Anomaly in full swing, Agents can interact with 10 Battle Beacons to obtain the Epiphany Dawn Medal!

Two septicycles will end during this second phase, so if you upload 7 Portal Scans for a single Portal before the end of a Cycle, a Battle Beacon will spawn on it. Interact with the Beacon to obtain a point towards the Epiphany Dawn Medal!

The two cycles end on:
1) November 19th, 15:00 UTC (in 5.5 hours)
2) November 26th, 22:00 UTC

2022-11-17 09:16:44 @SmurfHunter has recorded a sample of the sounds coming from a L8 Machina Portal!

These sounds appear to only play when visiting a Machina Portal in person, and won't play when viewing one remotely.

2022-11-16 23:50:26 As reported by Niantic on their Ingress Telegram Channel, here is what a L8 Machina Portal looks like!

It appears to be charging its red crystal, positioned on top, with jolts of energy.
Reports from Agents say that the NL-1331 XM Research Vehicle was spotted on the scene (the portal was briefly moved right next to this Portal!)

2022-11-16 21:11:58 Niantic has introduced some Agent Stats to track your interactions with red Portals, which appear to be canonically named Machina Portals.

The new stats are:
Machina Resonators Destroyed
Machina Portals Destroyed
Machina Links Destroyed

In introducing these stats, Niantic has mentioned the red portals for the first time in a social media post.
