2022-05-21 18:13:29 Quantifying the reduction of respiratory motion by mechanical ventilation with MRI for radiotherapy
https://ro-journal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13014-022-02068-5

Due to respiratory motion, accurate radiotherapy delivery to thoracic and abdominal tumors is challenging. We aimed to quantify the ability of mechanical ventilation to reduce respiratory motion, by measuring ...

2022-05-21 15:57:25 T Stage and Pretreatment SUV Predict for Tumor Recurrence with 5 Fraction SAbR in Early-Stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
https://www.advancesradonc.org/article/S2452-1094(22)00102-6/fulltext?rss=yes

Five-fraction stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SAbR) regimens are frequently used to treat centrally located early-stage NSCLC or disease in proximity of the chest wall as a means of optimizing tumor control and reducing treatment toxicity. However, increasing these SAbR regimens to 5 fractions may reduce tumor control outcomes. We sought to identify the clinical parameters predictive of treatment failures with these five-fraction courses.

2022-05-20 12:35:33 Direct clinical effects of cardiac radioablation in the treatment of a patient with therapy refractory ventricular tachycardia storm
https://www.advancesradonc.org/article/S2452-1094(22)00099-9/fulltext?rss=yes

Cardiac radioablation or stereotactic arrhythmia radiotherapy is a new and promising noninvasive treatment modality for patients with ventricular tachycardia (VT) considered therapy-refractory or untreatable. It is unknown whether cardiac radioablation is a suitable therapy in the setting of VT-storm and incessant VT although cases have been reported. In this report, we present a 60-year-old male patient with an ischemic cardiomyopathy admitted for VT-storm. The patient was unresponsive to multiple combinations of anti-arrhythmic drugs and a left cardiac sympathetic block.
