Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd (BABA) is planning to split into six units: Cloud Intelligence Group, Taobao Tmall Commerce Group, Local Services Group, Cainiao Smart Logistics, Global Digital Commerce Group, Digital Media and Entertainment Group. Alibaba said the decision to split up the business is the most significant restructuring in its 24-years history.

The fundamental purpose of this reform is to explore fundraising or listings for most of them. The company mentioned that five of the six units created by the move will explore raising fresh funding and initial public offering (IPO) options. The exception would be Taobao Tmall Commerce Group, which handles China commerce businesses and will remain a wholly owned unit of Alibaba Group.

Alibaba Chief Executive Daniel Zhang said that the original intention of this reform is to make the company more agile, shorten decision-making links and respond faster. Each of the six businesses will have a CEO and a board of directors, and the company will “lighten and thin” its middle and back-office functions.

Analysts believe that the split signals the clearing of regulatory worries and eases concerns that Alibaba has lost the potential to grow. The reorganization also comes at a time when there are signs that Beijing is warming back up to the technology business as the government seeks to revive economic growth in the world’s second-largest economy.

Overall, Daniel Zhang is set to continue to lead the cloud-computing division as the company gears up to grow its business in global markets and the AI arena.

安踏体育用品有限公司(Anta Sports Products Ltd, 2020-HK)公布22年下半年盈利超出市场预期，全年收入继续创新高。

安踏公布22年下半年营收为人民币276.86亿元，增长4.4%。22年下半年净利润为人民币40.02亿元，同比增长3.1%。稀释后每股收益(EPS)为人民币 1.43 元，下降 12.16%，超出分析师预期的每股人民币 1.36 元。

安踏体育在22财年录得收入人民币56.5亿元，较上年增长8.8%。其年收入超过了耐克中国，并在全球化进程取得很大的进展。安踏在“单聚焦、多品牌、全球化”的策略下，交出一份亮眼的答卷。

在22年下半年，安踏品牌收入增长6.9%，而FILA品牌收入下降2.3%。安踏品牌利润增长主要由于线上销售增长、DTC（直接面向消费者）收益增加。然而，FILA 品牌的下降主要是由于新冠疫情限制的负面经营杠杆。

2023-03-28 04:20:11 Anta Sports - Recovery in consumption spending

Anta Sports Products Ltd (2020-HK) announced that 2H22 earnings beat market expectations, and annual revenue continued to hit new highs.

Anta reported revenue for 2H22 was RMB27,686 million, up 4.4%. 2H22 net profit was RMB4,002 million, up 3.1% year-of-year. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) was RMB1.43 per share, decreasing 12.16%, beating analysts' expectation of RMB1.36 per share.

Anta Sports' recorded revenue of RMB5.65 billion in FY22, an increase of 8.8% compared to the prior year. Its annual revenue exceeds Nike China's, and it has made significant progress in the globalization process. The Group's "Single-Focus, Multi-Brand, Globalization" strategy has shown remarkable results.

2H22 Anta brand revenue grew by 6.9%, while the FILA brand declined by 2.3%. The profit growth of the Anta brand is mainly due to the growth of online sales and the increase in DTC (direct-to-consumer) revenue. However, the decline for FILA is mainly due to the negative operating leverage of the COVID restrictions.

Anta released its 2022 ESG report with implemented the ESG strategies action plan in three core areas. Anta's ESG strategy is also widely recognized by the international market and won eighth place in the world's most transparent ESG report by Global ESG Monitor 2022.

Moving forward, analysts expect the inventory to sales levels for both Anta brand and FILA brand to be currently between 4.5 to 5.0 months, which is an impressive improvement from the 4QFY22 levels. Anta gave the guidance for revenue to grow by double digits year-of-year and net profit to grow even faster than revenues.

Bloomberg consensus rating has 55 Buys with a 12-month target price of HKD132.09
