EV and AI : Take your pick ! Tesla Inc (TSLA) Tesla Inc (TSLA) will build a large new battery factory in Shanghai, further strengthening China's place at the top of the global energy storage supply chain.
Tesla will open a new Megafactory and plan to produce Tesla's very large battery (Megapack). The company plans to start constructing the factory during the third quarter of this year, and it will commence production around halfway through 2024. The factory can produce 10,000 Megapacks a year, with an energy storage scale of nearly 40GWh to cover the global market supplies.
Tesla is scheduled to announce their earnings results on 19 April 2023.

Three years later, Microsoft's cumulative investment in OpenAI has reportedly swelled to US$13 billion, and the startup's valuation has hit roughly US$29 billion. Analysts expect AI enthusiasm is likely to help further in the short term, although the long-term impact is to be assessed.
