August 26, 2021 at 17:00 (Tashkent time) within the framework of the Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank #IsDB Group in Uzbekistan "Respond, restore, restart", an online webinar will be held on the topic: "Is the decade of action to deliver the SDGs in jeopardy?"

Experts will discuss the prospects for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals #SDGs in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Uzbekistan at the international expert platform will be represented by the director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms #CERR under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Dr. O.Khakimov.

He will talk about the role of Uzbekistan in achieving sustainable development goals and problems in terms of understanding the implementation mechanisms, the distribution of responsibility and management.

Implementation of the SDGs in Uzbekistan coincided with an ambitious program of economic and social reform. Thanks to the comprehensive and structural reforms carried out in the country in recent years, Uzbekistan has seen significant progress towards achieving almost all of the SDGs.

At the end of January-July 2021, the country's foreign trade turnover amounted to 21.6 billion USD, which is increased by 1,981.8 million USD or by 10.1%.

The total export volume of foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.1 billion. The volume of imports amounted to $13.4 billion.

Uzbekistan has trade relations with 174 countries. The relatively significant share of FTT is in the People's Republic of China (18.7%), the Russian Federation (17.3%), Kazakhstan (10.3%), Turkey (8.7%), the Republic of Korea (4.9%), the Kyrgyz Republic (2.4%) and 1.9% in Germany.

2021-07-01 08:14:20 Uzbekistan greenhouse cucumber export increased by 76%

In January-April of 2021, Uzbekistan exported 4.2 thousand tons of cucumbers in the amount of $5.1 million, which is $2.2 more compared to the same period of last year.

Almost all the volume of cucumbers (99.6%) was delivered to the marketers of three post-soviet countries: Kazakhstan (47.6%), Kyrgyzstan (35.7%), and Russia (16.3%).

In 2021, Uzbekistan increased supplies to Russia by 3.3 times. Also, Turkey, Iran, and Georgia have increased the volumes.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the trade volume between Turkey and Uzbekistan increased 93% in the first five months of 2021 compared to the same period last year and reached $1.5 billion.

was speaking at the Uzbekistan-Turkey Business Forum organized by Turkey's Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) as part of the 6th Meeting of the Turkey-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Commission in Uzbekistan.

“Our goal is to maintain this momentum until the end of the year to reach our 2023 target as soon as possible and to go beyond our target of a $5 billion trade volume,” he said.

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms has published the next results of measuring the level of business activity in Uzbekistan during the period of May.

In May 2021, #BAI, calculated by the #CERR was 918 points, decreased by 8.2% compared with the previous month.

Despite the decline in the business activity index in relation to the previous month, its growth is noted by 25.5% compared to the same period last year.

In the regional context, the Samarkand region showed the highest growth.

In May 2021, the BAI increased in 6 regions compared to the previous month (April 2021). Significant growth was observed in Samarkand (35.9%), Syrdarya (33.0%), Surkhandarya (31.9%) regions and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (31.1%).

At the same time, a significant decline was observed in Fergana (- 11.3%), Khorezm (- 10.4%), Kashkadarya (- 9.9%) and Namangan (- 6.5%) regions.

Representatives of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Geology and Mineral Resources (State Committee for Geology), the Ministry of Climate and Environment of Poland and the Polish Geological Institute held an online meeting to discuss the issue of establishing cooperation.

The main directions of possible interaction are determined by conducting joint geological studies, developing investment proposals for European investors and improving the qualifications of Uzbek geologists.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached that as quarantine restrictions in connection with the pandemic soften, Uzbek geologists will be invited to Poland to exchange experience and study the best practices accumulated in this area.
