Niantic has just announced the January Special event. Here is what we know.

Event details:

Start Time: January 29, 2021 5PM UTC
End Time: February 8, 2021 5PM UTC

Gameplay changes:
1. Drone cool-down time reduced to 15 minutes
2. Double AP for All Glyph Hacking
3. Double deploy for L8 Resonators
4. Kinetic Capsule distance reduced to 2 kms(only for programs started after the event begins)
5. XM color will be changed to snow white.

Store changes:
1. Kinetic bundles-Kinetic Starter Bundle(0 CMU) and Kinetic Program Bundle(2000 CMU with BOGO offer)
2. New Winter-themed medals(Wintergreen and Winterblue) for 2500 CMU.

2021-01-26 15:26:15 Resistance India agents from Mumbai completed Operation "Vande Mataram" on India's Republic Day(January 26). Over 1.3 Billion Mind Units were captured in this operation which covered large parts of Mumbai and suburbs with over hundred layers of blue.

2021-01-14 16:22:09 The Ingress community of Croatia is calling agents from all over the world to their humanitarian Virtual IFS in Petrinja for the month of February 2021. Petrinja is one of the towns closest to the epicenter of the recent earthquake and this event is to raise awareness and raise funds to help the relief effort undertaken by organizations such as the Red Cross in Croatia.

The Red Cross is actively working to help people in the affected places which include Petrinja, Glina and Sisak. They are in need of funds for this.

The organizers of the event have started a donation incentive to help Red Cross Croatia in purchasing materials for rebuilding the homes of the people who were affected. Any funds donated will go directly to Red Cross Croatia. The platform selected has no SWIFT/Credit card charges for donation incentives.
