NATO members splurge on Russian “secret exports” - inc. arms and military aircraft

According to Federal Customs Service figures, six of the top 10 buys of classified exports - which include weaponry and military aircraft - from Russia are NATO nations, including the US.

In the first 9 months of 2021, the Czech Republic has massively upped spending from $102mn to $706mn in the same period this year, while Washington has increased secret purchases from $706mn to $841mn.

Germany, the UK, Estonia and Netherlands are the other top NATO buyers, while Turkey has also supplied Turkey and India with anti-aircraft and missile defense systems.

Pharmacy in Virginia 'knowingly' gave 112 children wrong doses of Covid vaccine

Ted Pharmacy “incorrectly administered” partial doses of adult Coronavirus vaccines to kids after reportedly trying to make up for not having enough shots. (New York Post)

According to the NY Post, there’s a chance the pharmacy could have given too much of the vax or even too little of the jab.

“Because they did not have the children’s formulation they used the adult formulation but only gave a third of the amount to the children,” the Loudon County health dept. director told WaPo.

Southeast of Australia BATTERED with heavy rains: power outages widespread and flood warnings issued as dams OVERFLOW

The Wyangala dam has been spilling approximately 30 gigalitres of water per day as torrential downpours drench Victoria.

Meanwhile thousands of power outages are being reported as the low-pressure system brings heavy rains and flood warnings to the state.

The State Emergency Service reported that between 20 and 70 millimeters [0.8 inches to 2.8 inches] had been recorded in the Latrobe Valley Friday, which raised the alarm to flash-flooding.

Venezuela judge grants appeals to jailed 'Citgo6' US oil executives

The six oil execs detained in Venezuela for four years on corruption charges have been granted a hearing before an appeals court, a rare decision by the judicial system in the South American country.

Tomeu Vadell, Jose Luis Zambrano, Alirio Zambrano, Jorge Toledo, Gustavo Cardenas and Jose Pereira, known as the “Citgo 6,” were taken away by masked security agents during a meeting in Caracas in 2017.

The executives are to appear before a three-judge panel scheduled for next Tuesday. Washington has accused Venezuela of using the men as a political bargaining chip.

CNN to fire “good number” of “talent/staff” in major shakeup

News Cycle Media’s Jon Nicosia has claimed CNN will be going back to a “100% news channel, and a good number of “talent/staff” will head out the door to align with that mission.

Discovery Inc. boss David Zaslav will assume stewardship of CNN after the merger with WarnerMedia is complete. (Deadline)

“I’m going to be very hands-on” Zaslav emphasized before adding he will be moving to LA to manage the running of the troubled news network. As to the future of news and sports chief Jeff Zucker, who oversees CNN... Zaslav said he could not comment.

That’s all folks?

Israel turns to electronic warfare with beams instead of missiles

Israel has claimed its new Scorpius system can detect and disrupt multiple targets simultaneously using beams with the use of special beams. Israel Aerospace Industries say it can tackle aerial, ground and naval threats. It works by sending narrow beams which jam enemy systems using scanning tech:

“Protecting the use of the electromagnetic domain for our forces, while denying its use by the enemy, has become mission-critical” for Israel as this field is absolutely crucial for success in modern warfare, said Adi Dulberg, the head of IAI’s intelligence division.

Tiananmen statue creator asks Hong Kong for security law immunity... to bring it home

The Danish sculptor of the statue which commemorates protesters killed during China's Tiananmen Square crackdown has asked Hong Kong authorities for immunity from a national security law, so he can come and take it back to Denmark.

Jens Galschiot loaned the eight-metre high, two-tonne copper sculpture called the "Pillar of Shame" to a local civil society group - but fears he will be prosecuted under a sweeping national security law imposed by Beijing in 2020.

Democratic activists and some Western govts have described the law as a tool to silence dissent and push Hong Kong firmly on an authoritarian path.
