Rhymes can be found in books or on the Internet. Add some actions to the rhymes so that your students have something to do while they learn the words. Choose actions for just the important words in the rhyme. Actions will help children to remember the words.

When you learn the rhyme together:

Tell your Ss to copy the actions. (Copy me.)
Next, they join in with some words. (Copy me and say these words: ...)
Then, Ss join in with all the words. (Let's do it together.)
Ss do it alone. (Now you do it.)

Teachers never give up. Although the end of the school year is approaching, they are still strong enough to teach, learn, develop … and even run a marathon! That’s why we are launching ‘Grade Teacher Marathon 3.0. Get-to-know CELTA edition’!

For days, our CELTA trainers, Chris Reese and Lidiya Simak, will be sharing some key concepts of the CELTA course and helping you to prepare for the upcoming studies. Even if you are not going to take CELTA, this 5-day marathon is a massive help in your teaching!

We have chosen topics CELTA trainees and teachers often have troubles with. Starting from Monday, 25 April , we will talk daily about good and bad instructions, making sure the learners really understand teachers, maximizing students’ participation, getting control over teacher talking time, teaching systems and skills, classroom management, phonology, etc.

Every day, you will:
study new topics together with one of the Grade teachers
do your homework
get a word-code
compose a phrase
get a certificate at the end of the marathon.

By the end of the marathon you will get an incredible set of practical techniques and tools for teaching English as well as know the key concepts of the CELTA course!

The marathon will be held on our Instagram page @english.grade on 25-29 April, 2022.

Every day, we will post the materials and homework. All participants will submit their answers in private messages to the Grade page. We will send the code word in the messenger only to those who submit their homework to us.

There is more — all participants of the marathon who compose a 4-word phrase and get certificates will take part in a raffle and get a chance to win a valuable prize — 5 tickets to our online workshop by Lidiya Simak — ‘Teaching writing skills online’ — that will take place on 25 May.
