2022-04-17 17:01:06 Truth is, I have bad days too. But I always do my best not to pour it out on people.
No matter how much frustration I carry on my back after a hell week and no matter how much trigger some people add to my cup making me feel like I’m about to burst, I always hold myself back. I always remind myself that just like me, they have bad days too. They have days where everything keeps falling apart even when they try so hard to keep everything in place. There are reasons behind a spilled coffee, a burnt dinner, and other things that add frustration to an already ruined day. There are reasons why people do things they do and not do things they don’t. And just like what the famous quote says, adding fuel to the fire won’t do any good. To help calm the fire, sprinkle it with kindness.

Bad days are inevitable. But to keep the world a good place to live in, we have to wake up everyday and walk with a little self control and a ton of understanding.

2022-04-17 13:01:06 Everytime people say that they adore my independence, I just smile at them like I’ve heard it a hundred times. But at the back of my mind, there’s always this long pause—thinking of how sad it is that people adore me for my independence not knowing it was a defense I’ve come up with for my trauma of abandonment. You know, when you’ve been through a lot and no one was there for you, when people are used to you being the one needed rather than you needing someone, they tend to make you believe that you can handle everything on your own. And soon enough, even when you still don’t believe it, you learn to just accept it and live with it. When you have no one you learn to completely rely on yourself. You learn to build this extreme independence and master the life of not needing anyone. And since that’s the case for me, I always find it hard to consider their words as compliment.
