Three exposures to the COVID spike protein by either infection or vaccination elicit superior neutralizing immunity to all variants of concernHigh levels of neutralizing antibodies are successfully elicited against SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern, including omicron, after three exposures to the viral spike protein, mediated by vaccination with BNT162b2 alone or by a combination of vaccination and infection.

Similar or different type of vaccine as booster
● Homologous and Heterologous Covid-19 Booster VaccinationsParticipants who had been fully vaccinated with current Covid-19 vaccines received homologous or heterologous boosters, and their immune response was measured on days 15 and 29. Homologous boosters increased neutralizing antibody titers by a factor of 4 to 20, whereas heterologous boosters increased titers by a factor of 6 to 73.

Clinical severity of the omicron variant in South Africa●
Interpretation - Our early analyses suggest a significantly reduced odds of hospitalisation among individuals with omicron versus non-omicron infections diagnosed during the same time period. omicron-infected individuals had a significantly reduced odds of severe disease compared with individuals infected earlier with the delta variant. Some of this reduced severity is probably a result of previous immunity.
