Artsakh’s National Security Service reveals case of high treason

As a result of operational search measures, it was established that the Artsakh civil servant A.A. transmitted to foreign special services data on the situation in Artsakh, the structure and actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, military personnel, and equipment, Russian peacekeepers, etc.

In 2021, foreign intelligence officers contacted the accused via Facebook and, posing as an Armenian scientist living in the Diaspora, offered her cooperation for a supposed dissertation.

Meetings with the accused were held in Georgia and Ukraine.

A criminal case was initiated under Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Artsakh (High treason). A.A. was detained and confessed. The investigation is ongoing.

2022-06-19 10:28:05 Armenia will apologize to Turkey for ASALA: From the biography of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan

Khachaturian said that in 2011, at a meeting on the topic "Discussion of Turkish-Armenian relations in Adana", organized by the Department of International Relations of the Faculty of Economics of the Turkish University of Chukurova (Adana Province) and the Foreign Policy Program of the Turkish Foundation for Economic and Social Research.

"No one in Armenia wants to look back, the goal here is to create free "Armenia-Turkey relations". However, unfortunately, we did not have a positive result on this topic," Khachaturyan said, noting that there is a large share of regional forces in this.

According to him, regardless of everything and regional forces, Turkey and Armenia should be able to jointly solve the problems between them. Khachaturyan noted that there are quite a lot of economic and social problems in Armenia, so the citizens of the country cannot think much about the events that took place in the past, and Armenians living abroad (France and the USA) have few economic and social problems and are more interested in the issues of genocide.

Khachaturyan said that one apology for the Armenian Genocide by Turkey is very important, adding: "This approach can open all the doors to the end. We are ready to apologize to Turkey for the bloody conflicts in the region, especially ASALA. As Armenia, we will apologize to Turkey, but there is no progress in this direction in Turkey. Enough of so many disputes, quarrels between the two countries should be the end.”

2022-06-18 09:13:54 On the initiative of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAJFD), 91 organizations active in the EU Member states sent a letter to the President of the European Council Charles Michel, expressing profound discontent with his statement following the trilateral meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev dating to 23 May 2022.

The organizations welcome Charles Michel’s efforts for peace negotiations. Nevertheless, they emphasize the importance of ensuring that peace is negotiated based on justice and not by sacrificing the fundamental rights and needs of the Armenian side which has been a victim of vicious aggression of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem in 2020.

The organizations regret that the press statement of 23 May disregards key principles of EU’s documented approach towards the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and overall endorses the Azerbaijani stance on the conflict resolution in some crucial aspects. This includes using the wording “Karabakh” while referring to the conflict, instead of “Nagorno Karabakh” which is a political entity with a defined territory.

2022-06-17 10:29:21 Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking in the Armenian Parliament on June 15, spoke about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

The Prime Minister's speech basically boiled down to the fact that Armenia has already recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.

To prove his point, Pashinyan spoke about the draft decisions on Karabakh, namely about Meghri in exchange for Karabakh and the project of a single state of Azerbaijan-Karabakh. Thus, Pashinyan tried to convince illiterate people that this means that Armenia has already recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.

At the same time, the Prime Minister forgot to clarify that none of these projects have been implemented.

Pashinyan then moved on to the Madrid Principles, stating that by agreeing with these principles, Armenia once again recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan.

Then Pashinyan began to tell well-known facts, in particular that the Azerbaijani population of the NKAO should also have participated in the referendum and that the questions should not have been limited in any way, trying to present this as a possibility that Artsakh could become part of Azerbaijan as a result of referendum.

This point is especially interesting because, saying this, the Prime Minister either speaks Armenian poorly, or says that the Armenian population of Karabakh could vote for joining Azerbaijan.

Pashinyan then continued his speech, condemning the second President Kocharyan and the third President Sargsyan.

After speaking for 29 minutes of his 35-minute speech, Pashinyan stressed that this speech is not about the past (what a surprise!), but about the future, and summing up the above, justified his new point of view that the Karabakh issue is a question of rights, and “status is a way to ensure these rights.”

Naturally Pashinyan omitted his already three unsuccessful attempts to change the negotiation process:
1. "I'm starting negotiations from scratch," as he stated in 2018,
2. "Artsakh must return to the negotiating table", which he failed to implement,
3. "Separation in the name of salvation," which he spoke about during the war.

Then (the cherry on the cake was waiting for all of us), Pashinyan withered that Armenia was in danger and that small states were not protected, and the only protection is peace, peace with neighbors, which would be legally secured.

The Prime Minister continued by saying that he would try to go this way, but “there are no guarantees that it will succeed, since peace is a mutual process.”

Pashinyan repeated that he does not know whether the peace process will be crowned with success, but he guaranteed that “the reverse process would lead to the destruction of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.”

In general, Pashinyan defended Azerbaijan's positions well, actually admitted that he could not bring to criminal responsibility those whom he accused of corruption, said that we are in danger, and warned that all this could end badly.

2022-06-16 19:42:55 Artsakh State Minister Artak Beglaryan responded to Aliyev's latest attacks on Artsakh made at the 9th Baku World Forum:

“1. Yes, there is no Nagorno-Karabakh, because there is a Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic, and it is a subject of international law, although it is not formally recognized at the international level.

2. The Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict has not been settled and will not be settled until Azerbaijan takes into account the immutable right of the indigenous people of Artsakh to self-determination.

3. The issue of international recognition (hence the status) of the Republic of Artsakh will be resolved sooner or later, and Artsakh will never be part of Azerbaijan.

4. It would be better if Aliyev thought more about the conscientious exercise of the powers granted to him by the Constitution of Azerbaijan, guaranteeing the rights of his own citizens (including Lezgins, Talysh, Avars, Tatars, Tats and other minorities) instead of "worrying" about the rights of Armenians.

5. Maybe Aliyev will suddenly remember what happened to more than 500,000 Armenians in Soviet Azerbaijan, or is there at least one Armenian in the territories of Artsakh occupied by Azerbaijan?

There are a number of other questions and answers addressed to Ilham Aliyev, but I will leave them for your presentation.”

President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi received the delegation led by Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan

The meeting touched upon the Armenian-Iranian multilateral cooperation, which is based on centuries-old friendship, close historical and cultural ties between the two peoples, the Parliament’s press service said.

Among other topics, Simonyan presented the post-war situation, humanitarian problems and the issue of preserving Armenian historical and cultural values under the control of Azerbaijan to the Iranian President.

“We are friends of difficult days for all our friends, we are guided by this. On happy days, everyone could stand by everyone, but the real friendship is shown in times of difficulties”, the Iranian President said.
