2022-06-10 11:47:23 It is often said that Occupy Wall Street (and its affiliated movements in other countries) happened just before the takeover of the activist left by the global corporations. Which powerful entities (organisations, funders, corporations, etc.) were behind Occupy, or promoting/defending it?

2022-06-09 04:27:04 I could not agree more. The NAP is symptomatic of libertarianism in its pathological form: a childish retreat from taking part in the theatre of the world, a feminine hope that others will protect you and get you what you want, and an abdication from the masculine duty to shape the future. Our enemies use force against us all the time, and by making the first move, gain the advantage. In politics and in culture, you either use force, including by being the initiating party, or you lose. It's as simple as that.

If a "famous" person seems or feels inorganic, follow that instinct, because it's probably correct.

I was first attuned to this phenomenon in the early 2010s when I found myself asking how Lena Dunham could have possibly become famous—being such a disgusting person—the answer was that Mom and Dad were well-connected in media.

The same is true for so many other "artists" who are woefully mediocre and yet enjoy massive fame, like Billie Eilish.

I also don't think it's an accident that these astroturfed frauds often have some kind of politically-charged "come up" story associated with them. The "female empowerment" angle is red meat for the type of person who enjoys "artists" such as these. They are the Diversity Hires of art and music, and an insult to everyone with real talent.

Many thousands of capable and unique creators languish on platforms like Bandcamp where most people will never hear of them.

Pop culture isn't just propaganda, it's also devoid of any actual talent.

If we learned anything from the New Atheism era of politics, is that you cannot rationalize your way to some middle ground. This isn't a public forum, it's a religious war.
