A GAZ-53 truck carrying explosives detonated near the nine-storey block of flats No. 35 on Oktyabrskoye Shosse. Nineteen people were killed and 89 were hospitalised. Open / Comment

2022-04-22 10:20:52 On 28 December 1984, the Soviet Navy conducted training exercises. This included a P-5 cruise missile (4K34, NATO classification SS-N-3c Shaddock) launched from a submarine.

However, it did not land where it had been planned (in the Soviet territories), but flew into Finnish Lake Inari. The Northern Finland Tourism Promotion Centre decided to take advantage of this and sent Joelupukki to the scene of the incident. The military were not too happy about the joke, but the journalists were happy as hell. Open / Comment
