2022-04-17 14:10:01 The drug pervitin (a methamphetamine derivative) was widely used to stimulate Wehrmacht soldiers - its pills were officially included in the rations of airmen and tank crews.

It was also used by civilians - chocolate candies filled with pervitin were on sale, although the Ministry of Health later recognized its dangers and banned its production. The pharmacists who developed pervitin were moved to the United States after the war and were involved in the development of drugs used by the US army in Korea and Vietnam. Open / Comment

During the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet army trained suicide dogs to destroy enemy tanks.

Hungry dogs were taught that food could be found under a mock-up of a fighting vehicle. In combat conditions the trained animals were bundled with TNT and an explosive device and released under approaching tanks, where the dogs were to die.
