1st March IIML Noida campus Panel 5
WAT - Make in India: Too little too late
M1- early 30s
M2- early 40s
M1: Tell me something about yourself?
Prepared answer.
Asked for my certificate file mid way as i mentioned i have been very active.
M1: What calls do you have ?
No follow up
M1: So there is a study that was conducted by a Canadian saying that the country that sells a lot of cosmetics has high number of rape cases? What are your views about it ?
I told him how women perceive makeup and how men look at it.
M1: Why do women wear makeup?
Related it with confidence.
M1: Are you saying only women who wear makeup are confident ? and then you mean to say if they dont they wont feel it ? So kind of you are accepting the study?
I tried to tell him how my field is apparel production not fashion and that i will go back and study about it. I don't have many clues.
M1: you don't trust me to give a few more facts about the study and that the scientist has been in the news.
M1: There were a lot of miss universe and miss world from india during the end of the 20th century but then it stopped for 17 years. What do you think can be the reason?
Sir, I feel there is a diversity angle.
M1: What do you mean by that ?
Countries representation etc.
M1: but i feel it was because of the lack of nourishment. Do you agree?
Not aware sir.
M1: Are you active in sports ?
I used to play in my school teams for various sports but since college I haven't been active much.

M2: about cosmetics. Why do I have to pay so much import duty on cosmetics from different countries ?
Protect Indian companies?
M2: No, if I want to buy a premium product and I can afford it. Why do I have to pay so much import tax on it ?
By then my mind froze completely. I said I was not aware.
M2: What is the trade deficit ?
Told
M2: something about receipts
Couldn’t answer
M2: Read any economic or business news?
Yes sir, told him about RBI planning on increasing the Repo Rate further to control food inflation as heat waves in feb will affect wheat producing this year and wheat has the maximum impact on the inflation.
M2 where did you read this?
Told
M2: when was this on the news ?
I read it this morning sir.

Not a very good experience for me. They tried very hard to pressurize me and confuse me. Even after telling them my strengths and my industry they drove the interview as far away as possible.
