The media reflect an almost universal positive approval of any actions of the governments. In combination with pictures from hospitals and suffering people, as well as fear-inspiring excess mortality, let any critical thinking - one cannot think logically under these circumstances - come to nothing.
In principle, the population believes everything that it gets served by the media. Thus, the official media stubbornly remain silent about the lockdown critics. Even critical and well-founded opinions from top medical experts are simply hushed up.
A weighing of arguments did not and does not take place. The "normal citizen" sitting in front of the television is thus presented with an extremely filtered and one-dimensional scenario. The true background of the chaos caused by a few is deliberately left in the dark. The government spends many billions of taxpayers' money to make it clear to us, the broad masses, which opinions belong in the fake news box and which do not. Under these circumstances, only a one-sided view can emerge and a rejection of those the government and the media say belong to the Fake News crowd. No one wants to be marginalized. Most want to follow the official point of view.
Unilaterally informed people live in an " either-or-world" rather than a " both-as-well- world." The "either-or" pattern unfortunately does not have the ability to think about other statements - it just wants to be right.
If critical statements are heard, most people think: Such topics are discussed by experts - they will make the right decisions for us. We get the conclusion from the discussions in the media. We are freely informed via the press - after all, we pay fees for it.
