2021-12-13 12:07:15 Donbass’ “forgotten” Greeks: We sit at home and listen to Ukrainian army shelling

The reference of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Greek expatriates living in Donbass brought to the fore a forgotten part of Hellenism that lives in an area that has been going through difficult years.

“Russia is part of the European security architecture. Therefore a functional relationship ultimately benefits all parties,” Mitsotakis said in his joint statements with Putin last week.

“Greece, as a member of the European Union and NATO, is also approaching these relations with great care and that is why I did not hide my concern about the resurgence of tensions in Ukraine.

“I believe that a conflict there will not have a winner, it will only have losers.

“That is why I believe that the Minsk agreements, but also the reactivation of the Normandy scheme, shows us the way.

“Let us not forget that Greece has a special interest in the Donbass region due to the strong presence of Greeks living in the region.”

2021-12-12 17:46:48 A call to return to serious and respectful dialogue between US, EU, NATO, Russia and Ukraine alleviating threat of war

Statement From the Friends of Crimea Club, USA

Since 2014 and the US backed coup d’etat in Ukraine, the United States and its allies have imposed increasingly damaging economic and political sanctions on Russia that have had an outsized impact on the citizens of Crimea. This, along with the ongoing war against separatists in the Donbass region, NATO war games in the Black Sea, threats of invasion from Ukraine, “test” missile launches from Romania against Crimean territory and a steady beat of war threats from American media, has made normal life in that part of the world virtually impossible.

Most Americans are vague, at best, on everything about Crimea; its precise location, its population, the make-up of its citizenry, their cultures, their relationships with Russia and with Ukraine and, perhaps most importantly, their history – recent and past. It is the hope of the Friends of Crimea USA to address that prejudicial information gap and to oppose a misguided American foreign policy that is pushing that region of the world toward an unwanted and unnecessary war.

Specifically, the Friends of Crimea USA encourages the immediate recognition of the right to self-determination of the Crimean people and a return to serious and respectful dialogue between the US, EU, NATO, Russia and Ukraine that would lead to a diplomatic resolution of the Ukraine/Donbass impasse thus alleviating the threat of war among the parties, a war that would inevitably engulf Crimea.

2021-12-11 19:53:14 A delegation from Crimea is in Turkey for the meeting of Crimean Tatar associations

A large delegation from Crimea came to Turkey for a meeting on the humanitarian relations of the Crimean Tatar associations.

Ervin Musayev, the international relations consultant of the Crimean leader Sergey Aksenov, said in his statement to the Sputnik news agency that a large delegation, including himself, came to Turkey for a cultural meeting of Crimean Tatar associations and organizations.

Musayev said, “There are 40 people in our delegation; Among them are representatives of social and cultural associations, scientists and journalists.
Regarding the content of the meeting to be held today, Musayev said, "The forum will explain the Crimean Tatar culture, and then a roundtable meeting will be held to discuss what can be done to improve relations in the field of science between Crimea and the Republic of Turkey."

Earlier, Maria Zakharova, Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made a statement regarding this meeting to be held in Ankara. Zakharova, for the meeting to be held in order to improve the humanitarian relations of the Crimean Tatars in Crimea with their compatriots in Turkey, said, "I am sure this meeting will be a convincing argument against the myth that the Crimean Tatars are massively oppressed."

Crimea was connected to Russia with a referendum held in 2014, after the actions of ultra-nationalist groups in Ukraine spread to the peninsula. In the referendum in which the current status of Crimea was determined, 96.77 percent of the people voted in favor of leaving Ukraine and joining Russia.
However, many countries do not recognize the results of this referendum, in which the people of Crimea exercise their right to determine their own future, and therefore impose various sanctions on Russia. Turkey, on the other hand, did not participate in these collective sanctions against Russia, although it did not recognize the current status of Crimea.

2021-12-11 19:41:24 Ján Čarnogurský: Unqualified Communication of the Slovak Prime Minister

On Thursday, December 9, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger communicated with US President Biden as part of the so-called Bucharest Nine. The US president informed his partners about a previous video meeting with Russian President Putin. Eduard Heger wrote about his communication with the American president on the social network.

Heger's communication was more submissive to Biden than the European average. Heger supported Ukraine's territorial integrity and its Euro-Atlantic ambitions. Territorial integrity in the Western newspeak means the return of Crimea to Ukraine, but it does not mean an unconstitutional coup in Kiev in 2014, which resulted in the transition of Crimea to Russia.

It does not even mean the murder of the Crimeans, who were in Kiev in February 2014 to demonstrate under the then President Yanukovych, were returning on buses to the Crimea and the Maidens stopped the buses along the way, all passengers had to get out and killed some. The crime has never been investigated.

2021-12-10 07:02:47 Zakharova: the forum of the Crimean Tatars in Turkey will prove to Ukraine the absence of their oppression in Crimea

The forum of cultural and humanitarian ties of Crimean Tatar organizations of Crimea with compatriots in Turkey, which will be held on December 10-12 in Ankara, will prove to the Ukrainian authorities the absence of oppression of this people on the peninsula. This was stated on Thursday at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“We welcome the fact that this purely humanitarian event is being held and we hope that it will attract the attention of the numerous Crimean Tatar diaspora in Turkey, and will also allow us to form our own impression of the situation of our fellow tribesmen in Crimea,” she said. “We are confident that the forum will become convincing. an argument against the myth persistently implanted by Ukrainian politicians about the allegedly taking place in Crimea, as they like to say, "mass oppression of the Crimean Tatars."

According to Zakharova, the consolidated efforts are yielding results, no matter how much the opposite would be desirable to ill-wishers. "Information about the real state of affairs on the peninsula is slowly but surely breaking through censorship, and in general, direct blocking in the Western media and brings the world community closer to the real perception of what is happening," the diplomat said.
