Real images of the Earth taken by the Japanese satellite "Kaguya" on September 30, 2008

It seems that the Earth rises from behind the lunar horizon, but in fact the rise of the planet is caused by the movement of the ship itself. Since we always see one side of the moon, respectively, the Earth in the sky of our satellite hangs almost motionless at one point. From the other side of the moon, our planet is never visible at all.

Why is Jupiter so big?

It began to form before the backward planets and began to suck in water, dried comets, meteorites and grow.

Fact: Jupiter will fit all the planets of the Solar system.

This video was taken from a plane passing over the Pacific Ocean during the eclipse on March 8, 2016

The recording is accelerated: in the original it lasts 5 minutes and 15 seconds.

Astronomers have registered a new type of stellar explosions – a micronova flare. During each such event, 19 quadrillion tons of matter are burned in a few hours!

Microns are powerful explosive events, but not very noticeable on an astronomical scale. They lead to the release of a much smaller amount of energy compared to the flashes of new ones. Both events take place on white dwarfs – dead stars with masses like the Sun, but comparable in size to the Earth.

A white dwarf in a binary system can steal matter–mostly hydrogen–from its companion star if both components are located close enough to each other. When the gas falls on the very hot surface of the white dwarf, the hydrogen nuclei merge into helium with the release of explosive energy.

Similar explosions occur in the case of microns. They are observed on some white dwarfs that have a strong magnetic field that directs the flows of matter to the magnetic poles of the star.

How stars are formed

Let's say there is an accumulation of interstellar gas and dust, then a supernova flare occurs nearby. The blast waves hit the gas and dust and compress them into dense lumps - stars

These are the 5 most amazing photos of Earth from outer space.

At #5 we have a time-lapse of Venus, Earth, and Mars captured from the NASA-ESA Solar Orbiter from 155.7 million miles away.

With # 4 we hawe a picture of a crescent-shaped Earth and Moon, the first of its kind ever taken by a spacecraft. It was recorded by NASA’s Voyager 1 when it was 7.25 million miles (11.66 million kilometers) from Earth on Sept. 18, 1977.

Coming in at # 3 is an iconic picture that shows Earth rising out from beyond the lunar surface captured from Apollo 8. The original picture showed Earth coming out from behind a vertical horizon with north at the top, but NASA felt the public would grasp it better if it showed the Earth from a horizontal point of view.

At # 2, we have the Blue Marble taken by the crew of the Apollo 17 spacecraft. It may be one of the most widely distributed photographic images in existence.

And #1, the Pale Blue Dot, a photo of planet Earth from a record distance of about 3.7 billion miles away

What if the Moon Crashed into the Earth?
⠀⠀
The moon has a significant influence on our planet. It controls the tides, stabilizes the climate, and makes Earth more livable — some scientists even think planets need objects like our moon to be capable of supporting complex life. Animals also make use of moonlight to hunt at night and guide themselves; birds use it to migrate and navigate.
⠀⠀
Could the Moon Actually Crash Toward Earth?
The Moon is not in any danger of suddenly dropping from space. There’s an equilibrium between the Earth and the Moon. "It’s a balancing point called the barycentre and the two bodies rotate around that."

What if the Moon was replaced with Mars?

If Mars were to become our only natural satellite, things in this part of the Solar System would change. For Mars, taking the place of the Moon would mean temperatures on the red planet would rise from their current average of -60°C (-80°F)

While the Moon reflects its bright white and blue sheen onto the Earth, Mars would be even more vibrant to look at. And because of its larger surface area, it would reflect more sunlight at night, making our evening hours about four times brighter, and casting an orange hue across our planet.

Mars, being so much bigger, would have a stronger gravitational pull on us. With Mars standing in for the Moon, we’d see an increase in volcanic activity and the shifting of the tectonic plates.

Tsunamis may occur more often and be stronger than ever before. Temperatures on Earth would jump, causing some of the polar ice to melt — leading to higher tides and bigger tsunamis.
