A new high-rise building called Wasl Tower will soon appear in Dubai.

Towering more than 300 meters and 64 floors, it will join the series of mega-shiny towers the city already boasts.

It will have 229 residential units and 258 hotel rooms as part of Dubai's second Mandarin Oriental hotel.

The building will also have a helipad, office space and 11 parking floors, and will reportedly be connected to the Burj Khalifa metro station.

Wasl Tower is projected to be ready in 2024 and will have views of Burj Khalifa from its windows on Sheikh Zayed Street in the City Walk neighbourhood.

When a black-and-white kitten was spotted between President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, during their meeting at Al Marmoom in Dubai, it became the talk of the town.

As the two leaders were discussing issues concerning the nation yesterday, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was seen softly stroking the cat.

Last August, several residents of Dubai saved a cat from certain death in a video shared by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

After being rescued, the cat was given to a shelter at Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve, where it gave birth to many kittens, including the one at the meeting between Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

It's a very nice story, isn't it?

Weekends outdoors with your children don't always have to be expensive. In fact, there are plenty of free child-friendly places to explore in Dubai.

Here are some outdoor activities you can enjoy with your children this weekend:

1. Head to Dubai’s Creek Marina for a nice morning picnic or a relaxing evening by the gorgeous promenade.

2. At Dubai Design District (D3), there is a skate park, basketball and volleyball courts, climbing walls, an urban beach and outdoor seating.

3. Head to the Burj Plaza for a nice outdoor evening. Get ready for an adventurous ride on this 19-metre-long tube at the Burj Plaza. The 19m long tube is mounted at a 30-degree angle, with riders meeting a two square metre floor mat at the bottom.

4. Dubai Marina is another perfect place for a family outing in Dubai. Children seem to love splashing around in the dancing fountains at the Marina Walk.

Don't forget to save this post for yourself.

Virtual models and NFTs will walk the runway in a digital fashion show hosted by two entities in Dubai. Organisers say it will be the first show of its kind in the region.

DubaiPeeps and LandRocker will be putting up the show for a special audience on November 23. Whoever is lucky enough to get a seat, will be able to enter by simply logging into their web browsers.

Designed as a tribute to the people of the emirate, Dubai Peeps is the first NFT collection in the emirate.

Participants can win tickets by getting a DubaiPeeps NFT or following its social media.

Photography experts at London-based ParrotPrint researched the most famous landmarks to see which ones usually make it to tourists' camera rolls.

Dubai's Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab have made it to the top 10 list of the most photographed landmarks in the world — beating iconic structures like Australia's Sydney Opera House, the Great Wall of China and India's Taj Mahal.
