WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 1

POWER OVER DEMONS

Luke 9:1-3

_Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece_

The Lord Jesus Christ called us, marked us and set us aside to walk in Him. That means we walk in His authority and power all the days of our lives. No Christian is a weakling, and we should not parade ourselves as weaklings and victims in this life. The word of God tells us we have been given power over all demons and to cure diseases.

When God institutes something, it is forever, and it continues to yield what it is meant to produce till time on earth is over. It is on this earth we will be casting out demons as well as confronting being confronted with the powers of darkness. It is on earth that we will stand against the darkness of this world and establish the supremacy of God over the devil.

When we pray for God’s power to work in our lives and through us, we are asking for something that is already in God’s will. It is something that God Himself has already ordained that we should walk in them. The world needs God more than it thinks, and we are God’s representatives, we are His witnesses, so He is not ashamed to demonstrate His power in us. Let us constantly gird our loins for battle because we have been endued with power for that.

Prayer
1. Thank God for counting you worthy of representing Him on earth in the issues of this life.
2. Pray that you will wake up to your privilege, responsibilities and readiness for combat.
3. Father, please set me free from fear and timidity and let faith rise up in me.

Declarations
I declare that God has indeed marked me, set me aside and empowered me to stand for Him in the warfare currently going on in the earth. I shall not disappoint God, I shall stand tall in His name and declare His sovereignty over all His enemies. I declare that this battle is already won in the name of Jesus.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 28

YOUR WORDS SIMPLY SAY WHO YOU ARE

Matthew 12:35-37

_35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”_

Jesus in this passage teaches the relationship between the heart and the mouth. The heart is the repository of so many things, good or bad. People fill their hearts with hurts, anger, bitterness, and very unpleasant things. The same heart can store the values we are expected to live by. The mouth becomes the passive organ that reveals what is truly inside the heart.
Jesus calls the heart a treasure house. Whatever you keep in your heart will grow, mature and begin to bear fruits. If you do not guard your heart and allow it to harbor all the evil that passes through, your heart will be full of evil. How will we know that? According to Jesus, your words will show if you are a good man or an evil man.
Does that suggest that you keep quiet so no one will know the kind of person you are? Absolutely not! You cannot keep quiet your whole life. You will talk one way or the other.
You therefore do yourself a lot of good if you yield to the God who makes good people out of sinful, fallen men. The level of goodness in you is directly proportional to your level of yieldedness to God. Cooperate with the Holy Spirit and He will make you a good man.

Prayer
1. Thank God for wanting to make you into a good man.
2. Pray that you will humble yourself before Him for that to happen to you.
3. Father, please help me agree with You in all You do to make me a good man.

Declarations
I declare that as l yield to God the goodness of God will flow from my heart. I accept God’s offer to purge my heart and soul so His goodness will flow through me. I will not stand in the way nor circumvent and hinder the process. I will go through God’s mill till in I overflow with the goodness of God in the name of Jesus.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 27

BE RECONCILED TO YOUR BROTHER

Matthew 18:15-17

_15 “Moreover if your brothe sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector_

God knows very well that in our fellowship with one another, there will be offences. Our fallen nature always gives way to offences every now and then. Jesus therefore laid the foundation for handling offences when they happen. He specifically taught about handling disputes between believers.

God expects us to quickly reconcile with each other when we offend one another. In other words, we should constantly be reconciled with each other. What Jesus prescribes here is one process that we often find difficulty following. If a brother has an issue with another, instead of going to the one offended to settle the issue and live in reconciliation, we carry our hurts and build grudges against each other.
This is in direct contrast to what Jesus teaches. Sometimes believers prefer to move away from a brother or sister that hurt them rather than have the issue addressed for reconciliation to take place. This situation questions whether we understand what Jesus did for us on the cross. He who knew no sin was made sin for our sake so we can be forgiven and reconciled to God, yet we do not want to be reconciled with each other. That is not good Christian testimony so we must desist from that. Let’s be reconciled one to another.

Prayer
1. Thank God for reconciling you to Himself through the sacrificial death of our Lord Jesus.
2. Pray that all forms of bitterness will be out of your system so you can live in reconciliation with others.
3. Father, please set me free from the bondage of unforgiveness.

Declarations
I declare that I am free from the bondage of sin because Jesus took my sin upon Himself. Because I have been forgiven, I walk in forgiveness with all men, especially those of the household of faith. From today, I will live with my brethren as members in the same family of God in the name of Jesus.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 26

LOOKING LIKE HIM

2 Peter 1:2-4

_Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and Godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust._

Jesus told His disciples “I am He is the Light of the world”. Then later He turned to them and said to them, “You are the light of the world.” In other words, Jesus meant “what I am, you are because I live in you”. In his writing to the churches, the Apostle Peter draws attention to this and expands it to give is its true meaning.

The grace of God is available to all believers. His divine power has given us all that pertain to life and Godliness for one ultimate purpose: that we maybe partakers of God’s divine nature. God is Light and in Him there is no darkness. So, if we partake of God’s divine nature then we are becoming full of light.

That is how we escape the corruption that is in the world through lust. If we walk in the light, we have no part in the unfruitful works of darkness. This is our number one inheritance. The blood of Christ cleanses us and brings us back to the father. The Holy Spirit purges our lives till we are full of the light of God. Every believer does himself a lot of good if we corporate with the Holy Spirit for this great work to be done in us.

Prayer
1. Thank God for every provision He has made available for your transformation into the divine nature of God.
2. Pray that your human spirit will yield totally to the Holy Spirit for God’s work to go on in your life.
3. Father, please help me respond to the Holy Spirit to make me like Jesus.

Declarations
I declare that the divine nature of God is my inheritance. It is the ultimate of my blessings in Christ Jesus. I have all it takes to become like Jesus, and I am committed to the process. All who knew me before will see the great work of the Holy Spirit in my life. I declare that my life shall be a testimony unto my God in the name of Jesus.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 25

FOR GOD’S GLORY ONLY

John 9:1-5

_Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”_

There are so many things that were a problem to the disciples and the world to which Jesus came. Here was a man who was born blind. The disciples asked if the man was blind because of his sins and that of his parents. It is possible that some in the community had even concluded that it was the man’s parents who committed sin which brought consequences to their son.

Jesus had to correct the thinking first for the disciples and second the community. Jesus said it was not the man nor his parents but that the whole issue was to eventually bring glory to God. We all know the end of the story. Jesus healed the man and that sparked controversy because He healed him on the sabbath.

Can we conclude that every sick person around is sick so that the works of God be revealed in him? These are difficult questions. What we can see however is that God’s commitment to heal the sick in our midst continues; and yes, anytime anyone receives miraculous healing, God’s glory is revealed.

Jesus has made us light of the world to continue the works He did. If we seek God’s glory to be revealed, we can guarantee His intervention in the challenges we bring before Him in prayer. Let God’s glory fill the earth as the waters cover the sea.

Prayer
1. Thank God for His willingness to show Himself strong if we create the conditions.
2. Pray that you will be a vessel God can use to heal and deliver people.
3. Father, please help make myself more available to my people.

Declarations
I declare that God is the same yesterday, tomorrow and forever. He continues to work miracles in the lives of those who believe. I believe and so I expect Him to work miracles in my life and through me. I declare that in every unpleasant situation I face, I now see potential for God’s glory to be revealed in the name of Jesus.

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24

HE WHO HAS SEEN ME

John 14:8-11

_8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves._

We are privileged to be living at the time we are in. During the time of Jesus, the disciples struggled to understand anything Jesus said or did. Because of the dispensation we are living in, we do not have that problem.

Philip had at that time not read “in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God” and the continuation of this that said, “and the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst men”. Now you understand their dilemma. Jesus expected that by the time Philip asked that question, they all should have figured one way or the other that Jesus was the Creator of all things.
We know that Jesus is the Seed of the Woman that was promised in Genesis Chapter three. We have read the prophecies about Jesus throughout the Old Testament narratives and the word of the prophets.

Nothing should make you have a second thought about Jesus for who He really is. By extension, there is no one like him so we cannot be intimidated by religions that do not acknowledge Jesus.

Prayer
1. Thank God for the revelation of Jesus Christ that is abundant today in the world.
2. Pray that your faith will even be stronger through Jesus’ answer to Philip.
3. Father, please help me remain strong in my belief about Jesus being Lord and God.

Declarations
I declare that my Jesus is above all and no one ever gets close to Him in honor and glory. He is God come in the flesh. He is the source of life, the everlasting Father and the Prince of peace. He is the Lord of life, the Source of all power. All authority is in His hands. I am His child and that makes me blessed and highly favored in the name of Jesus.

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 23

WHAT IS THE BLESSING OF ABRAHAM?

Galatians 3:13-14

_13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith._

God promised Abraham that He would make him the father of all nations. Then God added that through him all the nations of the earth would be blessed. God took several years to show us the blessings He was referring to. If you want to fully understand this, study the history of the Israelites who were the immediate descendants of Abraham. You will realize that the blessings that came to them were not just material blessings.

It was a combination of several things: darkness came upon the whole of Egypt and it did not affect them. None of the ten plagues had any effect on them. See how the favor of God went ahead of them as they travelled in the wilderness towards the Promised Land. See the fear that crippled the nations that came upon them.

The body of Christ today has a limited understanding and expectation when it comes to the blessing of Abraham. We have become so glued to the world’s standards of material possessions to the point that if the believer does not have money in his account, he does not consider himself blessed.
We make the statement “I am blessed and highly favored”, but harbor fear and uncertainty in our hearts, waiting for the time when we will have material possessions. Then we come out to testify about how the Lord has blessed us.
It is time to broaden our understanding of the blessing of Abraham. Abraham had great wealth, and so did Job, but they both had more than just material things

Prayer
1. Thank God for making you a beneficiary of the blessings of Abraham.
2. Pray for an enhanced understanding of blessings beyond material possessions.
3. Father, please help me enjoy the blessing that is mine through Abraham.

Declarations
I declare that I am blessed. I may not have that much money in my accounts, but I am blessed. I may not be living in my own mansion, but I am blessed. The truth is that because I am blessed, all these are going to follow me, and in the fullness of time, I can talk of God’s total blessings for me through Father Abraham in the name of Jesus.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 22

GOD KNOWS HOW TO PROVIDE

Matthew 17:25-27

_And when he had come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?” 26 Peter said to Him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. 27 Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”_

If Jesus had established a business, He would have been the wealthiest billionaire that lived on earth. That was not the purpose for His coming so He did not do that. That did not make Him poor. This passage captures the incident where the people were alleging that the disciples do not pay taxes.

Jesus did not write to His bankers because He did not have one. He did not fall on His savings, because there was nothing like that. He simply showed that He was the owner of all that we can see and handle; creation.

Jesus just pulled an extraordinary miracle – asked the disciples to catch a fish and remove money from its mouth. The other occasions where He provided are also clear – blessing five loaves and two fishes to feed five thousand men besides women and children. When wine served at a wedding party got finished, He did not call the winepress to order fresh wine. He simply created one that was better than the one they bought from the winepress.

Believer in Christ, God knows how to provide for His children. This business of running after money all day at the expense of our fellowship with God is not taking us anywhere. Trust the One who owns the whole world and your needs will always be met by Him.

Payer
1. Thank God for His unlimited source of blessing for your several needs.
2. Pray that you will have faith to trust God to provide your daily needs.
3. Father, please open my eyes to see your abundant provisions for me

Declarations
Because God is the great provider, I will not despair; I will continue to seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and I know that all things shall be added unto me in the name of Jesus.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 21

OUR STRONG TOWER

Proverbs 18:10

_The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe._

As Christians, we are exhorted to stand our ground and not run in the face of adversity. The Apostle Paul exhorts us to stand, after we’ve done all, to stand. When we run from the battle, we give the devil victory. When we stand in Christ, we have the authority to command the devil to leave us alone and he cannot subdue us.

An example of one situation when running in life as a Christian is allowed - if you are running to the Strong Tower. This is a symbolic language. It is simply meant to charge us to always abide in the Lord. For as long as we abide in Him, we are safe. When we position ourselves outside the name of the Lord, we become a prey to the enemy.

When you hear people using their mouths to create the sound of machine guns in prayer to fight the devil, you know immediately that they do not understand the dynamics of spiritual warfare. The devil hears and obeys only one bullet; that bullet is the name of Jesus. That name he cannot stand any day, anytime, anywhere.

Carefully study the Book of Acts and see the miracles that happened at the name of Jesus. When we abide in the Strong Tower, the gates of hell cannot prevail against us. When we move out of the Strong tower, we break the hedge around us and get a hard hit from the devil.
The Strong Tower is stronger than any bunker any head of state has built as a hiding place from military armory. If you think life is chasing you and you must run, make sure you run into the name of the Lord.

Prayer
1. Thank God for the name of Jesus that gives security to all who run into it.
2. Pray that you will constantly abide in the Tower, and not have to run back and forth.
3. Father, please plant my feet firmly in the Strong Tower and help me abide there.

Declarations
I declare that there is no place safe on this earth except in the name of Jesus. In His name, I am protected and shielded against all demonic power and activity. In His name all the bullets the enemy fires against me will bounce back. I declare by divine authority that in His name l shall constantly find rest and peace as I abide in the strong tower.
