2022-04-24 12:58:49 IDF: IDF and ISA forces conducted joint counterterrorism activities in Judea and Samaria this weekend

Following the recent rise in terrorist activity against Israel, IDF and ISA forces conducted joint counterterrorism activities in a number of locations in Judea and Samaria over the weekend, including the towns of Qalandiya, Al-Bireh, Hebron and Jenin.

Additionally, during operational activity in the town of Arabbuna on Friday, IDF soldiers apprehended an individual suspected of assisting his relative, Ra’ad Hazem, the terrorist who killed three civilians and injured dozens more in a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv earlier this month.

The forces apprehended a total of 12 individuals suspected of involvement in terror activities over the weekend.

Earlier today, IDF observation soldiers spotted a number of suspects attempting to smuggle drugs from Egypt into Israeli territory.

IDF soldiers operated to thwart the smuggling attempt and confiscated approximately 200 kilograms of drugs worth approximately 4,000,000 NIS. The drugs were transferred to the Israel Police.

This is another instance of ongoing efforts by the IDF and Israeli security forces to thwart drug smuggling attempts along the Egyptian border.

Earlier this evening, IDF fighter jets struck a military compound used by the Hamas terrorist organization's aerial array in the Gaza Strip. This strike was carried out in response to an anti-aircraft attack during the previous IDF strike on terror targets in the Gaza Strip, and in addition to the strike carried out by the IDF earlier this evening.

The attempted anti-aircraft fire failed to hit its target. No IDF injuries or damage to IDF aircraft were reported. Open / Comment
