2022-04-10 10:29:58 IDF: IDF soldiers operated in the town of Ya’bad in Northern Samaria

On March 29th, 2022, a Palestinian terrorist carried out a deadly terror attack in the city of Bnei Brak in which 5 people were killed. Overnight (Saturday), the IDF conducted an extensive counterterrorism operation in the town of Ya’bad, where the terrorist originated from.

During the counterterrorism operation, IDF special forces apprehended eight suspects involved in terrorist activities and confiscated illegal weapons.

The soldiers located IDF ammunition and uniforms in the residence of one of the suspects. An explosive device prepared for a future terror attack was discovered and confiscated by the soldiers in another residence.

The suspects and weapons were transferred to security forces for further processing.

During the operation, the soldiers encountered violent rioters, to which they responded with riot dispersal means and live fire.

A Palestinian suspect hurled an explosive device at IDF soldiers. In response, the suspect was neutralized by the soldiers. No IDF injuries were reported.

2022-04-10 08:29:19 IDF: Yesterday evening (Saturday), IDF observation soldiers spotted a vehicle moving within the area of the security barrier in northern Samaria. A bag was hurled from the vehicle.

IDF soldiers at the scene found the bag which contained a “Carlo” submachine gun.

The weapon was transferred to security forces for further investigation.

Armed assailants are firing at IDF and Border Police troops conducting counterterrorism activity in the Jenin Refugee Camp and the city of Jenin, endangering their lives. In response, the troops are firing towards the armed assailants.

No IDF injuries have been reported.

An M16 assault rifle used by an assailant to attack the troops was confiscated.

2022-04-06 09:09:27 IDF and Israel Police forces thwarted a weapons smuggling attempt in the Jordan Valley area

Overnight, IDF soldiers identified two suspects carrying weapons adjacent to the border fence with Jordan.

IDF soldiers and Israel Police forces were deployed to the scene. The forces apprehended one suspect in the smuggling attempt and confiscated 30 weapons: 19 handguns, 6 Kalashnikov assault rifles, 2 M16 assault rifles and 4 cartridges.

The suspect and weapons were transferred to the Israel Police.
