Ingress Updates [ENG]

2021-10-27 17:30:12 Agents report that logging in with Facebook has been enabled back. You should be able to use Facebook for Ingress without any problems. No official confirmation from Niantic has been posted yet. Niantic confirmed at 16:02 UTC.

2021-10-25 20:16:12 Another important update: Facebook has blocked login to Ingress via their platform. According to Facebook, this is not temporary. Niantic is trying to challenge this decision.

If you only have one Facebook account connected to your Ingress account, follow the steps in our last post. It seems like Facebook login may take longer to be reactivated.

2021-10-25 19:36:41 Niantic has given a small update: Facebook has disabled the "log in with Facebook" method for Ingress, and Niantic is in contact with them to fix this.

In the meantime, you can log in with your Google or Apple account. Should you not have one connected, here's what you can do:

- Open another Niantic game (Pokemon Go, Harry Potter).
- Log in with your Facebook account
- Connect your Google or Apple account to your account
- Log in to Ingress with your Google or Apple account.

2021-10-25 16:44:13 Agents are currently experiencing issues in logging in and playing with Facebook. If possible, log into Ingress with your Google or Apple account until Niantic fixes the bug. We will keep you updated and let you know as soon as there is an update.

2021-10-23 17:04:54 Agents are reporting the gain of 1250AP per completed Portal Scan. This change on scoring was not announced by Niantic, so it's unknown whether the change is temporary or permanent. We will keep you updated on comments by the team.

Resistance Agent @Lynnsane created a new tool to make life on Ingress a little bit easier!

The Ingress Drone Reminder Bot is a Telegram Bot designed to remind users whenever it's time to move their drone to a different portal. Behaving like a stopwatch on steroids, give it the "fly" command after moving your drone and it will alert you whenever you will be able to move it again. It's also updated in real time with cooldown decrease from Niantic Events!

Additionally, it features a purely cosmetic function to add a colored heart and Agent name with the hue of your Faction!

2021-10-21 21:00:03 Ingress is more than just a game, and pushes Agents to explore the world far and wide.

Agent @fenixruivao started an expedition across Brasil from "Oiapoque" to "Chuì", as many Brasilian songs tell about, with his specially modified pickup truck! His journey will span across 3 months and will take him up through the central region of the country and down along allowing him to explore it with the eyes of Ingress!

2021-10-21 14:10:25 Thia posted an update on current lags, missing portals, and a plan for new features by the end of 2021.

The cause of the current lags, which slows down the game for some actions, has not been found yet. The Ingress team is continuing to investigate, but can't give an indication of when the lags will be fixed yet.

The Ingress team, along with the Wayfarer team, is also continuing to search for the cause of portals as well as editing which make it into other Niantic games but don't show up in Ingress. However, since the cause is not yet known, the team also cannot give a time frame by when the problem can be solved.

In addition to the already announced events, Thia also revealed that the following features should be available by the end of the year:
- Adventure Sync
- Portal Scan Meshing
- An update to an already existing portal boost

In November, the update to the Portal Boost will have targeted tests. How and if you can sign up for these tests is unknown.

Niantic is currently planning to sit down in the first quarter in 2022 and come up with a plan for 2022 and beyond. Once that happens, Thia will try to share something "roadmap"y with us.

2021-10-19 17:30:54 The Halloween Event announced by Niantic was officially presented on the community forums! Starting Thursday, 21 October, 16:00 UTC and spanning until Monday, 1 November, 16:00 UTC, the following bonuses will be active for Agents:

• 125 AP per Resonator destroyed or upgraded, Mod destroyed and recharge
• 313 AP per link destroyed
• 1250 AP per field destroyed
• 4 mods deployable by a single Agent

New items will be introduced in the Ingress in-app Store for the duration of the event:

• 120 L2 Resonators (1000 CMU)
• limited-time Halloween 2021 Medal (see picture) (2500 CMU)
• limited time Halloween 2020 Medal (2500 CMU)

2021-10-17 16:51:24 There are currently issues opening and logging in with Ingress. Players who had already opened the app are reporting of being kicked out as well. We will let you know when Niantic releases more information.
