2021-12-15 23:01:10 The lovely folks at FevGames have started the first IFS Artwork Competition for 2022!

"To start this year with sentiments of growth & rejuvenation, we are looking for artwork that delivers positive messages through existing Shaper Glyphs. If there are Glyphs that you resonate and/or share a sentimental connection with, please share it with the Ingress Community as a work of art and enter this global competition."

Note that the theme is optional. Submitted artworks will be evaluated by a variety of criteria. The best submissions will:

• showcase originality
• have a strong aesthetic appeal
• celebrate the cross-faction Ingress community
• represent the desire to explore new places
• inspire Ingress agents to be physically active
• communicate a feeling of mystery, wonder, or surprise
• have a thematic association with the month or season

Winners will be chosen by a panel of Niantic and IFS-UN members. The winners will have their artwork featured at an upcoming First Saturday, including in-game media elements of the artwork!

To participate to this round (January to March IFS Events), submit your creations by Friday, December 24th @ 2359 UTC using this form.

2021-12-13 21:53:40 Niantic has officially announced the start of the Beta phase of Niantic Social, the new opt-in feature that enables players to communicate across all Niantic games!

Starting today, all C.O.R.E. subscribers who have installed the latest Ingress update are able to join the Beta, with the possibility to invite other fellow Agents (even if not C.O.R.E. subscribers) to the platform!
The following features are already available for you to try out:
• Private conversations and Direct Messages
• Events feature to organize meetups and OPs
• Finding new Agents and communities near you

These codes will allow you access the following communities:

As asked by multiple Agents, Niantic has added a new feature!
When Adventure Sync is enabled, a push notification is sent to alert Agents when their Kinetic Capsule Program has completed running.

2021-12-02 09:10:36 Agents are reporting that the Via Lux Beacon is available for free on the Ingress in-app store! (One free per Agent)

UPDATE: We were informed that the Beacon was made free in some areas by Niantic to remember the passing of beloved Ingress Agent @Aeoro82. We bring our condolences to their friends and family.
Screenshots of the deployed beacons should be sent to @png85 who will publish these together with any condolences in the channel @KubisVerbrechen.

2021-11-30 22:16:38 The festivities are over and the 9th anniversary medals are slowly reaching the agents' profiles! Be aware that it may take some time before it reaches you, the Onyx medals will be distributed first, then Platinum, Gold, etc.

The NL-1331 2020 medal sale will also be extended as some agents are having problems accessing the store. Currently, December 31st is planned to be the last day in the store.

Let's save christmas again!
Many cities confirmed sightings of Anti-Claus, and some report they might have glimpsed his three camels.
We are reasonably sure he is back, and also the cause behind the rising number of lockdowns and restricted travel options - exactly like last year. So, there is only one thing to do: connect remotely and fight Anti-Claus - let's save christmas again!
This year too, we will have a corona-compliant edition. And the hackvent team simplified the input of stats and pictures: their TG bot can optionally help you with this. All tasks will be offered in English, Spanish, German, French and Japanese!

2021-11-27 21:59:31 Nine years have passed since Ingress first released. Throughout all the updates and new gameplay features, there are a few things that haven't been touched, like the score system. Since it released, there's only one way to increase the score: Capture MU.

What other things would you like to see that could influence the score? Note that this is just a fun poll though of by us, Niantic is not in any way involved in it.
