whispering in my ear,
voice like old jukebox
and tobacco
and whiskey:

Had to drug myself
to stay alive in this shit-hole;
"Everything will kill you," it has been said,
"both quickly and slowly";
So if I had to choose,
I would choose my best drug—
that is you.

2023-04-19 09:48:09 The poet with a pen in his hand
closes his eyes,
From his chair he ventures into his mind.
What does he see?
A miniature window in the darkness,
A light source in the abyss.
Clenching the frame,
The scenery changes.
Surrounded by lustrous Green leaves,
He is standing by a stream.
Its water clear as crystal;
Its womb's transparent.
Everything it touched, it cleansed.
Healing the land as it travelled.
Sensing a coursing passion,
He reaches for his pen.
The scenery gone,
His note before him.
No longer a void canvas
But a lovely painting.
A new world,
A poem.

2023-04-19 07:41:09 We met as strangers in this school of life.
We became friends and shared our hopes and fears.
We felt a connection that was strong and rife.
We made each other smile and laugh through the years.

But then something changed and you drifted apart.
You said you never liked me and we can never be one.
You said I should forget you and make a new start.
You said it's better for us both and it's already done.

I don't know why you changed your mind or how you really feel.
I don't know what's in your heart or what's in your head.
I don't know what's best for us or what's the right deal.
I don't know what to do or what to say instead.

But I know that I love you and I always will.
But I know that I respect you and your decision.
But I know that I wish you well and hope you find your thrill.
But I know that I will move on and find my own vision.

Thank you for the memories and the lessons learned.
Thank you for the friendship and the fun we had.
Thank you for the moments and the blessings earned.
Thank you for everything, the good and the bad.

I hope you find happiness and peace in your journey.
I hope you achieve your goals and dreams along the way.
I hope you have love and joy in your destiny.
I hope you have everything that makes your day.

You will always have a place in my heart and mind.
You will always be someone special and dear to me.
You will always be someone I care for and kind.
You will always be someone I remember with a glee.

2023-04-19 05:34:08 We were once a glorified fortress,
standing tall despite the odds.
Until you shattered our sanctuary,
revealing all the facades.

You said we needed to let the breeze in,
that we were strong enough to endure.
I begged you to be wary of the wolves,
warned you our exposure was premature.

Blind in your faith, you tore down our protection,
you paid no heed to me like a deaf man, in the time it mattered most.
You told me not to fret so, I was a fool to doubt.
You brushed away my pride, no matter how much I reproached.

Corruption crept in like a snake and ripped you away,
it left me desolate, clutching my delusions.
Pleading with the shadows, I imagined being you,
roaming for years alone, satisfied with my illusions.

Our fortress is rumored to now be haunted,
they hear a girl who wails with the breeze.
The walls have collapsed, yet no one dares to enter.
It is the abode of absent hope and lingering unease.

People say she's insane and her curse is catching,
everything living has been forsaken, she rambles destitute.
Another used to dwell with her, but he exposed her lunacy,
now her mind, her heart, her soul have all been reduced.

She shuns the light and lives in the night,
he was her sun but his rays have been erased.
A castle of the dead, her home has become her tomb,
Her spirit and essence have long been defaced.

It used to be formidable now it has all but crumbled.
All the cracks in the walls are etched onto her skin.
She is the ghost of a queen, betrayed by whom she trusted.
A fortress of her own now, nobody will ever be able to get in.

2023-04-19 03:27:07 My self-conviction is unwavering, like an impregnable fortress with its impenetrable walls, so strong that I am not afraid of any foreign flames.

It is these fiery flowers that bloom in my own garden that frighten me, for they could burn down the entire fortress in their scorching blaze.

2023-04-19 01:19:13 Where does the heart of vengeance go?
Is it lost in tears,
Or lost in the sea of desire and hope?

Have I forgotten something?
Is it the vengeance I had,
Or have I forgotten because my mind is dead?

What do I have?
Is it these questions or an imaginary world where I forget and lose every day?

2023-04-18 17:58:02 Your words turned into roars,

Mere howls of
A hurt animal.

So you stick to silence,

Because you don't know,
Who's the one you can trust,

To listen,

To a crying beast.

A tempest of emotions brews,
A maelstrom of colors, dark and brooding,
A canvas of my lonely moods.
