Proportion vs. Number

These are two different indications in Task 1.

E.X. Rate of admission to higher education from three local schools.

School A —> 30%
School B —> 55%
School C —-> 80%

More students were admitted to higher education from School C than others.
The proportion of students admitted to higher education from School C was higher than others.

The number of students admitted to higher education from School C was higher than others.
School C accounted for the highest fraction of students admitted to higher education.

Some struggle to use preposition "WITH" with "AGREE".
Typical sentences I find in essays are as follows:

I agree with all students should pay for their higher education.
I agree with that all with all students should pay for their higher education.

So when NOT TO?

AGREE WITH SMB/SMTH (cannot be followed by "S+V" pattern)

e.g. I agree with you/your opinion/opinion stated above/this scheme, etc.

AGREE THAT S+V ("THAT" cannot be followed by a noun)

e.g. I agree that all students should pay for their higher education.

Myth: You need to improve your writing speed in order to complete both tasks.

Bust: While aforementioned statement is reasonable, it is largley incorrect. In fact, what you really need to do is be wary of your spelling and words that you want to put in your essay. Most candidates 'half-learn' new words, neglecting idiosyncracies that a word entails. For instance, I sometimes encounter a student using 'struggle' in an essay to mean 'try'. If you look at examples and actual definition, they are not quite similar. So SO PAY ATTENTION to words. Do not 'half-learn' them. For instance, recently one of my students B.E. received 7.0 in her writing without being able to write more than around 5 sentences in Task 1. There, you can draw your own conjecture !
