World Problems Now Exceeds 56,000.

According to The Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential, the number of world problems now exceeds 56,000.

Problems included are those identified in international periodicals but especially in the documents of some 28,000 international non-profit organizations, profiled in the complementary Yearbook of International Organizations.

The Encyclopedia includes problems which such groups choose to perceive and act upon, whether or not their existence is denied by others claiming greater expertise.

After securing SIM card supply deal with Ethiotelecom, Lootah Industries PLC, a local firm that owns the manufacturing plant located in Addis Ababa, announced the facility will start the production of GSM SIM cards starting November 2021.

It is said that the delivery of the first batch of SIM cards will take place on November 2021. The company is expected to increase its capacity easily to 120 million smartcards as more operators enter the country, Banking and ID businesses come online and the exports start. The expansion plan also includes a production line to manufacture Telecom Scratch cards (Voucher Cards) which can produce 1 billion PIN’s per year.

Subject matter experts argue the #Ethiopian government to work strategically to make it easier for startup founders to establish new companies. Last year, Ethiopia’s Startup Act established a National Startup Council to be chaired by the Minister of Innovation and Technology and tasked with guiding and supporting the country’s startup ecosystem.

China has so far donated in excess of 1.8 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to Ethiopia, which the Ethiopian government said has played an important role in combating the virus.

Ethiopia has so far administered a total of 4,286,768 doses to 3,211,211 people, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health.

According to the ministry, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country reached 362,088 as the death toll from the pandemic reached 6,347 as of Saturday evening.

The trade expo, held from September 13th to 22nd, and organized by the China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation (CIEC) and China Association of Trade in Services (CATIS), attracted 1,013 Chinese exhibitors and more than 10,000 professional visitors from Eastern and Southern Africa to participate online.

Ms. Lelise Neme, commissioner of Ethiopian Investment Commission, said that China has emerged as the largest trading partner and foreign investor in Ethiopia.
