2021-07-21 23:38:37 Niantic announced the start of the #FieldArt Challenge!

The challenge will start on Friday, July 23rd @ 16:00 UTC and will end on Monday, August 2nd @ 16:00 UTC!

During this time, the following bonuses will be active:

• 2x AP for Links created
• 2x AP for Fields created
• 2x SoftBank Ultra Link drop rate
• Increased Key drop with 'More' glyph command
• Hack/Glyph Hack guarantees first Key drop

No Medal or Agent stat are available for this challenge, but you will be able to acquire (if not already owned) a 6th keylocker for your account: this special capsule holds 100 keys and will remove them from your inventory count!

Remember to show off your in-game artwork using the hashtag #FieldArt!

2021-07-20 21:45:10 The Wayfarer team has released an update on their roadmap for the next few months! This is what's coming up:

• Wayfarer Challenges for 2021 are being planned: let the team know where you think the events should travel next!
• The Wayfarer team is growing and will engage more with the community, even with more educational material and QoL updates to the Wayfarer Forum.
• The ability to see what Wayspots have already been approved during the Wayspot nomination process in Pokémon GO is being worked on. (Not all Portals are Pokéstops, so often PoGo players unknowingly submit POIs which are already in the database)
• The onboarding process will require new submitters to read the criteria before being able to submit nominations and review them. (Maybe with a test?)
• The ability to appeal rejections will be introduced in the future, to improve the nomination management experience.
• The team hasn't forgotten about their promise to fix email notifications. They will be revamped in the coming months.

2021-07-17 12:16:04 Niantic published release notes for Ingress' new update, v2.76.1. It will reach your scanners soon!

In this version, Portal Scanning now displays hexagonal points to "provide more visual feedback during the scanning flow" (see picture), and the Aerodyne avatar by IQTech was added to the game.

As far as bug fixes are concerned, the Reassign Portal button in the tutorial now has consistent styling and passcodes which include a Portal Key won't hang the redeeming animation any longer.
