2021-03-26 19:03:11 Niantic has announced the New Global Virtual NL-1331 Meetup!
Will start on 3.31 from Tuesday, March 30th 4PM UTC and will finish end Thursday, April 1st 4PM UTC.

The following changes will be live for the duration of this Virtual Meetup: 

- Successfully Glyph hacking (Drone Glyph hacks included) any Portal will mark your attendance at this Virtual Meetup and advance the NL-1331 Meetups Medal by one.
- The default yellow Prime Avatar will be temporarily replaced with the NL-1331X Avatar. (The NL-1331X Avatar will only replace the default yellow Prime Avatar; if you have already selected a custom Avatar, then your selected Avatar will not change.)
- Glyph hack sequences influenced by NL-1331

Brian has confirmed on Twitter that this was a limited run for the kit, but a new one is coming, Toast plushies are making their way back to the store, and overseas stores will get some more love soon !

Each kit comes with:

• 1 New NL-1331 2021 fleet card and medal code
• 1 2019 Wendy card and medal code
• 1 2019 Stein Lightman card and medal code
• 1 2019 Misty Hannah card and medal code
• 1 Level 3 resonator lapel pin
• 1 Level 3 xmp pin
• 1 Mobile command center patch
• 1 Ingress Prime patch

• 2 retro VR load out cards

Each kit costs $25 and will start selling on the 24th March. Note that Niantic is only selling these kits in the American Niantic Shop, so shipping outside of the USA may be very expensive.

The new Kinetic Capsule programs are now online (keep in mind the visual bugs previously announced)! Complete at least 4 of any Kinetic Capsule program to obtain the Optima Badge on your Agent profile!

2021-03-19 15:29:54 A proverb says "All good things must come to an end".

And that's what happened today. https://ingressmosaic.com , the most used and famous site for Ingress banners has gone into retirement.

I personally have a lot of memories connected to it: my first banner, choosing which missions to do when going in a new city, preparing for anomalies, where people from all around the world are looking for mission banners, and a lot more.

A big thank you to the guys who made this a reality, and a big wish for them of a bright future!

2021-03-19 04:20:34 An important notice was just released by Niantic.

Two visual bugs have been identified, which are related to the temporary Kinetic Capsules programs added for the Optima Challenge. Both issues DO NOT affect the actual output of the Programs.

"Issue #1: The JARVIS Program is currently displayed as ADA Refactor. Materials required are not affected, and the output will generate 1 JARVIS Virus; however, the Program title and the item is displayed incorrectly.

Issue #2: When claiming the 8 L8 Resonators Program and the 2 Hypercube Program, the Kinetic Capsule animation will display only “x1” item has been crafted. In reality, x8 L8 Resonators and x2 Hypercubes have been crafted and added to your Inventory."

Additionally, the Optima Medal will have a Silver and Gold tier added in the future second Optima Challenge.

2021-03-18 02:59:51 The following are the newly available Kinetic Capsule programs and the items needed to start them. They will be temporarily added for the Event.

JARVIS Program (4km)
1 ADA Refactor, 10 L6+ XMP, 6,000 XM

2 Hypercubes Program (4km)
10 L4+ Power Cubes, 6000 XM

8 L8 Resonator Program (4km)
40 L4+ Resonators, 6000 XM

For all other Programs, the walking distance will be reduced to 2km. (Not valid for already started programs)

Additionally the Kinetic Program Bundle is coming back to the in-app store! You will be able to purchase one for free and subsequent ones for 1,000 CMU each!

2021-03-18 02:46:52 Niantic announced the new Optima Kinetic Challenge, featuring the Optima Badge you can see in the picture above!

By winning the "Resonate the World" event, the Resistance unlocked a Jarvis Virus recipe in Kinetic Capsules for all agents and it will be available from Friday, March 19th 16:00 UTC to Monday, March 29th 16:00 UTC.
(Note that the time has been revised to accommodate for Daylight Saving Time)

Additionally, a Hypercube and L8 Resonator Program will be added to Kinetic Capsules. Complete any 4 of these programs during the Event (same dates and times) to unlock the Badge!

Since in many places around the world movement is currently restricted, Niantic will hold a new challenge where this same medal can be obtained, but at a later date.
Please follow the health guidelines put in place by your local government, wear a mask and practice social distancing while playing Ingress.

The results are in!
Resistance wins the "Resonate the World" Weekend Event with 886,548 Resonators deployed! The JARVIS Virus Program has been unlocked. The Enlightened was not far too behind, with 833,388 Resonators deployed.
