2021-03-13 02:07:55 Niantic published the release notes for the new version of Ingress Prime, v2.67.1!

In this version, the Layers button will now remember the latest selected Layer, even when the app is restarted. Furthermore, the minimum requirement for iOS users has been bumped to version 12.2 of the Apple Operating System "because of requirements from other game components".

Among the bugfixes, Battle Beacons can now be deployed even if Mods from the same Agent are present on the Target Portal; Android's back button will close the Layers menu, and the softlock occurring whenever tapping a field trip waypoint from the Drone Footage View has been resolved.

The new version will reach your devices in the next few days!

In the forum announcement, we can also read their description: their meaning in relation to 'hanami', the tradition of watching cherry blossoms bloom.

Sakura Tree: Hanami is to appreciate the transient beauty of cherry blossoms and MU.
Sakura Branch: Sakura represents a time of optimism and renewal or Recursion.
Sakura Blossom: ‘Mono no aware’ is a sensitivity to ephemera and XM.

2021-03-12 20:09:27 To celebrate the traditional Japanese Cherry Blooming season, three new badges have been introduced in the in-app store!

Sakura Tree, Sakura Branch and Sakura Blossom badges are now available for 2500 CMU each!

While Niantic hasn't officially confirmed it yet, we assume that the badges will only be available during the current event. We will provide further updates as we get them!

2021-03-11 07:20:12 During the European night, Niantic announced a new Special Event!

"Resonate the World" will last from March 12th 17:00 UTC to March 15th 17:00 UTC

The Faction with the most deployed Resonators (upgrades won't count!) will unlock a new Kinetic Capsule program to craft a virus, which will be usable by both Factions: ADA Refactor if the Enlightened win, Jarvis Virus if the Resistance win. It will be available from March 19th 17:00 UTC to March 29th 17:00 UTC.

During the event, the following bonuses will be available:
• 2 L8 Resonator deployable per Portal
• 2x Resonator drop rate from hacks
• 3x AP for deploying the 8th Resonator on a Portal

In addition, the following bundles are available in the in-app store:
• Mini Builder Bundle (2500 CMU)
46 Resonators
10x L1, 10x L2, 8x L3, 8x L4, 5x L5,5x L6, 30 L8
• 30 L8 Resonators (2500 CMU)

2021-03-08 22:08:17 To celebrate March 8th, International Women's Day, Niantic published on their social accounts the inspiring stories of four female Niantics, and will be doing the same every week this month, to celebrate their achievements, aspirations and contributions in Niantic!
This week: Shivaun Robinson, Chiaki Narusawa, Yennie Solheim and Anne Beuttenmüller!

Agents are also creating local events to celebrate this day and all women around the world, such as the Chilean Ingress Community, who organised a beacon lighting today at 20:00 your local time!
