Denmark has decided to transfer
25 Piranha III armored personnel carriers to
Ukraine. This was reported by a specialized military publication Olfi.
Piranha III is an obsolete
APC model for Denmark. At this stage
Danish army switches to Piranha V armored personnel carriers. In general, the developer of this equipment is Swiss company
Mowag. This is one of the most popular platforms of armored vehicles in the world, and is in service in 22 countries.
In addition to the

Biden mourns American killed in Ukraine
President Joe Biden expressed dismay Friday at the news that an
American, Willy Joseph Cancel, was killed while fighting alongside
Ukrainian forces.
"It is very sad. He left a little baby behind," Biden told reporters at the White House where he was hosting a meeting of federal inspectors general.
Cancel was killed fighting
alongside Ukrainian forces. The
22-year-old was working with a private military contracting company when he was killed on
April 25. The company sent him to
Ukraine, and he was being paid while he was fighting there.
Cancel served in the
US Marine Corps from December 2017 until November 2021, according to Marine spokesperson
Maj. Jim Stenger.
Cabrera said her son signed up to work for the private military contracting company on top of his full-time job as a corrections officer in
Tennessee shortly before the war in
Ukraine broke out at the end of February.

The border wall Trump called unclimbable is taking a grim toll
In the
trauma wards of this city’s major hospitals, patients from the border have arrived every day with gruesome injuries:
skull fractures, broken vertebrae and shattered limbs, their lower extremities twisted into deranged angles.
The
patients have fallen from new 30-foot segments of President Donald Trump’s border wall, a structure he touted as a
“Rolls Royce” that
“can’t be climbed.” His administration built more formidable barriers in the
San Diego area than anywhere else along the southern border, with miles of double-layer steel fencing, but that has not stopped more and more migrants from trying to scale it.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say they do not tally deaths and injuries resulting from such falls. But new statistics published Friday by UC
San Diego physicians in the medical journal
JAMA Surgery provide one of the first attempts to measure the toll.

A record 35 million-plus Americans have Affordable Care Act coverage - but the gains may not last long
More
Americans than ever before have health coverage thanks to the
Affordable Care Act, which is helping send the nation's uninsured rate to near record lows, the
Biden administration announced Friday.
Fueled by
Covid-19 relief measures and renewed federal investment, enrollment in
Obamacare plans,
Medicaid expansion and Basic Health Plan policies has soared to an estimated
35.8 million as of early 2022, up from
27.1 million in 2020, according to the
Department of Health and Human Services.
This includes an estimated
13.6 million people enrolled in policies purchased on the
Obamacare exchanges and more than
21 million people in
Medicaid expansion coverage, including
16.8 million who were not eligible prior to the landmark health reform law.
