Only you will decide how long your knowledge and skills will be valid and relevant.

If you see your diploma as a foundation to:

Keep scaling new heights,
Keep learning new things,
Keep building your knowledge in the domain you have chosen,
Keep expanding your portfolio of work experiences,
Then no one will be able to take away that diploma from you.

No one can ever invalidate the skills and knowledge that you have obtained over the last few years.

There will be many opportunities for you to continue learning after you graduate.

One example is Suhaimi, a continuing education and training (CET) graduate here with us today. Suhaimi enrolled in a part-time diploma at RP to broaden his knowledge in engineering. His time in RP equipped him with new skills in manpower planning, risk management, and inventory management. After graduating, Suhaimi will go on to take on an expanded role in his company, Rolls Royce.

All of us can learn from Suhaimi.

Keep our eye on the horizon;
Be open to learning new skills; and make the best use of the resources and opportunities available to us, for continual learning.

4G Team to develop roadmap to keep the Singapore story going for many more generations to come

Winning the next election is not a given, Lawrence Wong said. But he gave his word that the 4G Team will do their best to keep Singapore special. There is no ready blueprint for the Singapore of tomorrow.

The 4G Team will lead a major exercise to refresh our social compact and develop a roadmap for Singapore for the next decade and beyond.

What's the real agenda of these activists and The Wake Up Singapore?

Are they merely opposing the death penalty or do they have a greater agenda to push for legalisation of drugs?

We know WUS had been at it since 2014 when Ariffin Sha and Sean Francis Han were admins.

Drugs destroy lives and families even if not all die from drug abuse. Is this what we want for our society? NO.

Friends, you have a responsibility to rise up and take a strong stand against them and against drug abuse to protect our children from the scourge of drugs.

Many countries have legalised drugs because they have failed to solve the problem of abuse, not because it was good for their societies. By legalising drug abuse, they legalised away the problem. They can now say they do not have illegal drug consumption without solving a single problem. Meanwhile, the drug lords are happily fattening their bank accounts in broad daylight.

Setting the record straight on Nagaenthran’s case: the hard evidence and what the court documents say

It is important to note that the claim of Nagaetheran’s mental retardation did not come up as a defence in his original trial or first appeal.

It is also important to note that it was Malaysian human rights lawyer N Surendran, together with M Ravi (who took over the case from MR Eugene Thuraisingam) who made the above allegations of Nagaenthran's mental retardation. And yet, both lawyers sought to prevent the court from looking at Nagaenthran’s medical reports that ‘could shed light’ on this claim.

SG100 is a long time away; I will be more than 90 years old then, that is if I’m lucky to be still around

But let’s take SG75 as an intermediate milestone – that’s in 2040.

I will be 50 this year; I have committed all 25 years of my working life so far to public service – 14 in the civil service, and 11 in politics.

By 2040, I will be close to 70 years old. As I said before, I don’t know if the PAP will win the next General Election, let alone if I will still be in office in 2040.

But I give you my word: whatever lies ahead, I will give every ounce of my strength to this movement, together with my comrades in the 4G team.

We will do whatever it takes to strengthen the PAP-NTUC symbiotic relationship and our tripartite partnership to keep Singapore special and build a better Singapore in SG75.

30 months was all it took to bankrupt Sri Lanka.

The country has no foreign currency to pay for imports of essential supplies and fuel.

Hospitals have already cancelled routine surgeries after running out of anaesthetics. The prices of medicines have seen 2 hikes, a 30% hike in March and now, another 40% hike.

Sri Lanka is a lesson on the path to avoid. Populism is the surest way to mismanage the economy.

Education Minister Chan Chun Sing said:

Filming this video was outside of my comfort zone. I am surprised how a personal chat with Royston Tan on mental health sparked such an intimate video.
More importantly, we want more Singaporeans to know that mental health can affect anyone. We can be #BetterTogether when all of us come together to do our part to raise awareness and drive collective action for mental health in Singapore.
Take the first step. It can be as simple as sharing a positive note with loved ones and friends, or simply asking after someone. We might not know who needs it.

MFA said in a press statement that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan replied to their Malaysian counterparts on 26 April 2022 to convey that Nagaenthran A/L K Dharmalingam had been accorded full due process under the law.

Malaysia Prime Minister Ismail Sabri and their Foreign Minister Mr Saifuddin had sent letters this week to PM Lee and Dr Vivian to ask them to consider and commute the death sentence on Nagaenthran.

That mischievous caption from BBC and misplaced outrage. What about the thousands of lives and families destroyed by drugs? What about the thousands of deaths from drug overdose?

No one likes to enforce the death penalty. Irene Ng hit the hard truths right on the nail. It is more reprehensible if drug traffickers target low IQ people as mules because they believe they can get away with it.
