Have you been to this Rochester Park cafe?

It occupies a two-storey conserved black and white bungalow, where you can also sit and enjoy a cuppa at an outdoor verandah that’s typical of these colonial houses.

Some of the other bungalows in this conserved area have also been adapted for modern use, housing a variety of office spaces amidst lush greenery. You can read more about conservation areas and buildings around Singapore here!

As we look towards a brighter and more hopeful 2021, let’s remain vigilant to keep ourselves and others around us healthy and happy.

These otters have popped up along the Marina Bay promenade boardwalk to remind everyone to keep a safe distance in a friendly and fun way as we return to enjoy the public spaces around the waterfront. Happy new year all!

Did you know that when the Queenstown Public Library first opened in 1970 it was so popular that the lines often stretched from the borrow and return counters to past its front doors?

Built in 1969, a few years after Singapore’s independence, this conserved library building which features a modern ‘bow-tie’-shaped roof design and lattice patterned screen walls stands proudly in Queenstown as the first of many heartland libraries we can find near our homes today.

Click here for a closer look around the building!
