Know of any a-maze-ing spots around the heartlands for some good old mind-boggling fun? Come along as we check out these maze gardens located just opposite of Our Tampines Hub!

Besides adding a spot of green to our regional town centres, communal spaces like these also help to enliven the neighbourhood by bringing the community together through play.

Check it out here!

Did you know that Marina Bay is built on reclaimed land? The idea for creating the inland bay was mooted in the 1970s, when our city planners were drawing up plans to support the growth of Singapore as a business and financial hub.

Join us this June for a special 90-minute walking tour led by our volunteers to rediscover the transformation of Marina Bay into a leading financial hub, civic space, and community playground, and learn how it supports sustainable living. Held in conjunction with i Light Singapore 2022, this tour is available on selected Wednesdays only.

View the video to get a preview of the tour! To sign up, go to https://rediscovermb.eventbrite.sg

The countdown begins: i Light Singapore is just 2 weeks away! #ICYMI, Asia’s leading sustainable light festival will return to light up Marina Bay with a kaleidoscope of colours from 3 to 26 Jun 2022, with 20 captivating light installations that aim to spark fresh perspectives on the environment and world around us.

Alongside the light installations, look out for other Festival highlights such as GastroBeats, a 14,200sqm Festival Village where visitors can indulge in mouth-watering hawker fare and new-age street food, and get your hearts pumping at Jumptopia, a giant food-themed inflatable playground for the whole family. You can also participate in Light Forum, a series of tours, talks, and workshops conducted by industry experts, and get involved in many other activities such as flying luminous drones and participating in digital quests to learn more about adopting an eco-conscious lifestyle.

Do you recognise this building along the Singapore River? Originally built in the 1820s as a place of residence for a Scottish merchant, this building, which houses The Arts House today, ended up serving a variety of uses since the colonial era, including acting as a storehouse, government office, and courthouse, among others.

Click through to view more of the careful restoration work that clinched the Old Parliament House an Architectural Heritage Award in 2004, and how this building in our Civic District has played its part in shaping Singapore through the years!

#ICYMI, this year's Architectural Heritage Award nominations are open now through mid-June! For more details, go to: go.gov.sg/ahasg

Mark your calendars: i Light Singapore will be back after a two-year hiatus, and everyone is welcome! Come June, Marina Bay will be lit (literally!) by a colourful lineup of light art installations by local and international artists.

Starting this year, each edition of the festival will be anchored on a colour from the visible light spectrum, which comprises different wavelengths that represent various ways of seeing and understanding the world. i Light Singapore 2022, themed ‘Spark of Light’, kicks this off with the colour violet, which signifies the awakening of the senses, akin to the spark of an idea in one’s mind.

We can’t wait to see the artists’ creative interpretations, which includes reimagining the potential of everyday objects and waste by repurposing them into art. Swipe through for a sneak peek at what you can expect at i Light Singapore 2022. For more information, visit:

From a Garden City to a #CityInNature, making Singapore green to create a quality living environment has been a key goal for urban planners since the 1960s. Explore how our long-term plans over the years have helped to achieve this vision for our city!

In our Long-Term Plan Review public engagements, we have heard your ideas for the future of the environment and will continue to prioritise stewarding our natural capital and becoming more climate-ready as we map out plans for the next 50 years and beyond.

Based on your feedback for the #LTPR2021, we have also developed possible planning strategies to guide our long-term plans. Check them out here: go.gov.sg/ltprstrats

Congrats to the Park Yourself team for clinching the top prize of the URA-REDAS SPARK Challenge!

You may have seen these ‘people parking lots’ displayed at the Paya Lebar Central pilot Business Improvement District for the past month. Passers-by could become part of the installation by ‘parking’ themselves in the colourful frames, while penning down messages for the next person!

This winning idea is by Jonathan Christian Chin and Pearlyn Chang, and the aim was to bring ‘social’ into social distancing with a fun and safe space in our city that connected friends, families and strangers through meaningful interactions even during the pandemic.

Be sure to catch Park Yourself together with all five SPARK Challenge installations from now till 30 April at Marina Square!

What makes the Geylang Park Connector and Tanjong Rhu Promenade route unique? It is one of the few park connector routes in Singapore where you can find both land and water activities for you and your loved ones!

The route starts near Guillemard Road, runs along the Geylang River and Marina Reservoir, and links seamlessly to the Tanjong Rhu Promenade, before it concludes at Gardens by the Bay (Bay East), where you can catch amazing views of our city's skyline, and take the chance to explore the area.

The route is approximately 5km long, and visitors can not only take in its scenic sights, but also participate in a variety of sports and leisure activities thanks to well-placed sporting centres and open fields!

Swipe through for a virtual tour of the route.
