BE STRONG IN THE LORD

Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10

To “be strong in the Lord” is to take advantage of God’s power that’s already in you (Acts 1:8).

David took advantage of God's strength in him to defeat the giant Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45). He didn’t rely on his own strength but on God!

As God's child, you received this power the moment you received the Holy Spirit. It's not the power to lift heavy objects, but the power to do the impossible. Therefore, take advantage of God's strength in you by speaking in other tongues daily.

ALWAYS CHOOSE THE LOVE WAY

No matter how you’re treated, you should never respond in anger; rather, choose the love way. The love way is the higher and better way. The Lord Jesus never responded to anyone in anger no matter how He was spoken to.

Therefore, no matter how you’re spoken to, always choose the love way, and respond in kindness, and “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt...” (Colossians 4:6).

When there’s an important, mission like in movies, a special and well trained person is always sent to carry out the mission. This person has all the skills and gadgets to succeed on the mission. As God's child, you're on a mission too. This is the most important mission in the world. It’s the mission of soul-winning (2 Corinthians 5:19 -20), and you have the Holy Spirit to help you carry out the mission (John 14:16).

Therefore, refuse to be distracted for the time is short. Be about talking to people about Jesus and getting them saved. This is a precious and important mission.

You should always be glad when it's time to go to church. The Bible says in God’s presence is “...fullness of joy”.

David was always excited at every opportunity to be in God’s house (Psalm 122:1). He knew the importance of being there and the joy of being around God's people.

As you prepare for church tomorrow, take out your best clothes and keep aside your offering too. It’s another time to fellowship with other believers and enjoy God's presence.

TAKE THAT STEP OF FAITH

To show your faith in God’s Word, you have to ‘act’ on it. Whenever the Lord Jesus ministered healing to the sick, He always had them take that step of faith in response to God’s Word. To the lame man He said, “...arise, take up your bed, and go to your house” (Mark 2:11).

Be bold to put the Word to work as you hear it. It might be a word on healing; if you've been feeling weak, take that step of faith and do whatever it says. This is how to receive your miracle.

Your mouth isn’t the biggest part of your body, yet it contains so much power, enough power to change any situation you're facing no matter how difficult it seems.

While the Lord Jesus was on earth, He lived a life of complete victory and dominion. He conquered everything in His path. He didn’t do it with a sword or an army, He did it with His words.

That’s what He wants you to do too. With your mouth, speak words of faith that'll give you the victory and dominion in life!

Have you heard the great news? You’re next in line for a miracle! How do I know? It’s right there in the Word. God's desire for you is that “...you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2). Glory to God!

God wants His children to live a life full of blessings and satisfaction. He wants you to be happy.

So, get excited and be full of expectation because you’re next in line for a miracle.

When Joshua and the children of Israel stood before the great walls of Jericho, they already had instructions from God on how to bring the great walls down (Hebrews 11:30). They weren't moved by those walls, but they acted on the Word of God. According to the Bible, they got a mighty miracle through their faith in God's Word.

As God's child, refuse to be moved by what you see or hear. Trust in the Word and act on it. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away" (Matthew 24:35).

One day, the Lord Jesus was by the pool of Bethesda, and he saw a lame man. He walked up to him and asked if he wanted healing. Rather than answer Jesus, the man began to complain (John 5:7). Some children are this way; rather than present their requests to God in faith, they’d complain of how difficult things are. This isn’t the right attitude.

What is your desire? Is there a need you want met? All you need to do instead is ‘pray’, ‘believe’ and ‘receive’. It’s that simple!

So, don’t complain put your faith to work, and receive your miracle.

The title of today's devotion reminds me of a song we sing in Church. It goes like this: "it only takes a spark, to get a fire going, soon all those around, will warm up in glowing. That's how it is with God's love once you've experienced it. You spread his love to everyone; you want to pass it on." It's a beautiful song that shows how contagious God's love is. Once one person experiences it, it won't stop at that one, it'll keep going round!

As you step out today, spread the fire of God's love through your kind deeds.
